Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung eines wasserlöslichen, basischen Triphenylmethanfarbstoffes. Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung eines wasser löslichen, basischen Triphenylmethanfarb- stoffes, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man die durch Kondensation von 1 Mol p-Chlorbenzaldehyd mit 2 Mol Di-(methox- äthyl)-m-toluidin und Oxydation erhältliche tetra-all,oxyalkylierte Diamino-triphenylme- thanverbindung,
die in p-Stellung zur Car- binolkohlenstoffatom ein Chloratom enthält, mit p-Toluidin verschmilzt, bis kein Grün mehr vorhanden ist.
<I>Beispiel:</I> Die durch schwefelsaure Kondensation von p-Chlorbenzaldehyd mit Di-(methox- äthyl)-m-toluidin erhaltene Leukoverbindung wird in der üblichen Art und Weise mit Blei superoxyd zu einem grünen Farbstoff oxy diert. 30 Gewichtsteile dieses grünen Farb stoffes werden mit 40 Gewichtsteilen p-To- luidin bei etwa 120 C so lange verschmol zen, bis kein Grün mehr vorhanden ist.
Die Umsetzung dauert etwa 3 bis 4 Stunden. Nach Entfernung des überschüssigen p-To- luidins erhält man einen Farbstoff, der sich sehr leicht in Wasser löst und tannierte Baumwolle, Wolle und Seide in leuchtend grünstichig blauen Tönen von hervorragen der Lichtechtheit färbt.

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a water-soluble, basic triphenylmethane dye, which is characterized in that one obtainable by condensation of 1 mole of p-chlorobenzaldehyde with 2 moles of di (methoxethyl) -m-toluidine and oxidation tetra-all, oxyalkylated diamino-triphenylmethane compound,
which contains a chlorine atom in the p-position to the carbinol carbon atom, fuses with p-toluidine until there is no more green.
<I> Example: </I> The leuco compound obtained by sulfuric acid condensation of p-chlorobenzaldehyde with di- (methoxy-ethyl) -m-toluidine is oxidized in the usual way with lead superoxide to form a green dye. 30 parts by weight of this green dye are fused with 40 parts by weight of p-toluidine at about 120 C until there is no more green.
The reaction takes about 3 to 4 hours. After removing the excess p-toluidine, a dye is obtained which dissolves very easily in water and dyes tannic cotton, wool and silk in bright greenish blue shades of excellent lightfastness.
