Description

  

  <B>Zusatzpatent</B> zum     Hauptpatent    Nr. 136390-    Verfahren zur Darstellung eines     blauen    Farbstoffes der     Diaminotriphenylmethanreihe.       Im Hauptpatent wird ein blauer Farbstoff  beschrieben, der durch Kondensation von  1     Mol        Benzaldehyd-2.4-disulfosäure    mit 2     Mol          2.1'-Methylpropylamino-l-methylberrzol    und  Oxydation der entstandenen     Leukoverbin-          dung    erhalten wird.  



  Einen analogen     Farbstoff    mit den gleichen  wertvollen Eigenschaften erhält man, wenn  man 1     Mol        Benzaldehyd-2.5-disulfosäure    mit  2     Mol        2-Mono-n-propylamino-l-methylbenzol     kondensiert und die     Leukoverbindung    dann  oxydiert.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  26,6 Teile     Benzaldehyd-2.5-disulfosäure     werden in der üblichen Weise in verdünnter  Schwefelsäure mit 32 Teilen     2-Mono-n-pro-          pylamino    -1-     nrethylbenzol    kondensiert. Die  entstandene Suspension der     Leukoverbindung     wird nach beendeter Kondensation alkalisch  gemacht, überschüssiges     2-Mono-n-propyl-          amino-l-methylbenzol    wird mit Dampf abge  trieben und die filtrierte Lösung wird in be-         kannter    Weise mit     Bichromat    bei Gegenwart  von     Oxalsäure    und Schwefelsäure oxydiert.

    Durch Aussahen erhält man eineu     Farbstoff,     der Wolle und Seide ebenso stark anfärbt,       wie        die        um        70%        grössere        Menge        des        ent-          sprechenden    Farbstoffes aus     Benzaldehyd-2.5-          disulfosäure    und     2-Monoäthylamino-l-methyl-          benzol    und zwar in wesentlich klarerer Nuance.

The main patent describes a blue dye which is obtained by condensation of 1 mol of benzaldehyde-2,4-disulfonic acid with 2 mol of 2,1'-methylpropylamino-1-methylberrzene and oxidation of the leuco compound formed.



  An analogous dye with the same valuable properties is obtained if 1 mole of benzaldehyde-2,5-disulfonic acid is condensed with 2 moles of 2-mono-n-propylamino-1-methylbenzene and the leuco compound is then oxidized.



  <I> Example: </I> 26.6 parts of benzaldehyde-2,5-disulfonic acid are condensed in the usual way in dilute sulfuric acid with 32 parts of 2-mono-n-propylamino-1-nrethylbenzene. The resulting suspension of the leuco compound is made alkaline after the condensation has ended, excess 2-mono-n-propylamino-1-methylbenzene is driven off with steam and the filtered solution is oxidized in a known manner with bichromate in the presence of oxalic acid and sulfuric acid .

    Looking at it, you get a dye that dyes wool and silk just as strongly as the 70% larger amount of the corresponding dye made from benzaldehyde-2,5-disulfonic acid and 2-monoethylamino-1-methylbenzene, and in a much clearer shade.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Darstellung eines blauen Farbstoffes der Diaminotriphenylmethanreihe, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man 1 Mol Benz- aldehyd-2.5-disulfosäure mit 2 Mol 2-Mono- n-propylamino-l-methylbenzol kondensiert und die Leukoverbindung oxydiert. Der Farbstoff färbt Wolle und Seide in sehr kräftigen und auch bei künstlichem Licht klaren, schönen; blauen Tönen an. Claim: Process for the preparation of a blue dye of the diaminotriphenylmethane series, characterized in that 1 mol of benzaldehyde-2,5-disulfonic acid is condensed with 2 mol of 2-mono-n-propylamino-1-methylbenzene and the leuco compound is oxidized. The dye dyes wool and silk in a very strong and beautiful way, even in artificial light; blue tones.
