"REDUçãO ESTEREOSSELETIVA DE ACETOFENONA SUBSTITUìDA". A presente invenção refere-se a processos estereosseletivos inovadores para a preparação de (S) -aril-etanóis pela redução dos compostos correspondentes que contêm o grupo ceto, por microorganismos. Os (S)-aril-etanóis são úteis como intermediários na síntese de compostos que são inibidores de <sym>-secretase, úteis no tratamento da doença de Alzheimer.
