Abstract

Se relaciona con la produccion de una planta no transgénica resistente o tolerante a un herbicida de la familia de la fosfonometilglicina, p.ej. glifosato.También se relaciona con el empleo de una oligonucleobase recombinagénica para lograr lamutaci on deseada en la secuencia cromosomica o episomica de una plantaen el gen que codifica para 5-enolpiruvilshikimato-3-fosfatosintetasa (EPSPS). La proteína mutada, que intrínsecamente mantiene la actividad catalítica de laproteína silvestre,permite u na resistencia o tolerancia aumentada de la planta al herbicida de la familia de la fosfonometilglicina y permite el crecimientosustancialmente normal o el desarrollo de la planta, sus organos, tejido o células comparados con la plantasilvestre ind ependientement de la presencia oausencia del herbicida. También se relaciona con una célula vegetal no transgénica regenerada a partir de ella, como así una planta resultante de una cruzaempleando una planta no transgénica regeneradaque tenga el ge n para EPSPS mutado.
