1 Η μελέτη των σχολικών εγχειριδίων που θα επιχειρήσουμε στη συνέχεια, έγινε με βάση δυο θεωρητικές προσεγγίσεις: τη θεωρία της γλώσσας σε συμφραζόμενα (theory of language in context) και τη θεωρία του γλωσσικού σεξισμού. Θεωρία της γλώσσας σε συμφραζόμενα Η συγκεκριμένη θεωρία περιλαμβάνει τρία βασικά συστατικά στοιχεία της γλώσσας, ενσωματωμένα το ένα στο άλλο. Το πρώτο εξωτερικό στοιχείο είναι η γλώσσα ως κοινωνική πρακτική, η οποία ενσωματώνει τις ιδεολογίες, τους λόγους και τους θεσμούς. Το επόμενο στοιχείο, η γλώσσα ως κοινωνική διαδικασία, ενσωματώνει τους τρόπους με τους οποίους η κοινωνική δραστηριότητα πραγματώνεται μέσω της γλώσσας, και περιλαμβάνει λεκτική και μη λεκτική δράση. Το τρίτο είναι η γλώσσα .

Qualitative research conducted with specific focus groups in areas representative of Greece - urban, industrial and agricultural populations, confirms the gender impact factor on digital illiteracy. A large part of the population in Greek society today is displaying technophobia, women in particular, as is the case internationally. Gender-constrained attitudes against science and technology are formulated very early. The compatibility of private life and career is essentially a female problem, a factor that is clearly evident in the latest EU average employment quota for women which is marked by a decrease of 14.3 percent, in contrast to the 5.6 percent increase in the employment quota for men. This paper explores the female students’ knowledge constructions about the decreased presence of girls and young women in fields regarding new technologies and especially the computer section in Greece. For that reason I was addressed to 40 female students of the first year of the Philosophy and Education Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. They were participating in the seminar class “Informatics” and we discussed in focus groups about their previous experience with computers both inside and outside the school environment, how they feel towards computers and finally how do they explain the fact that the most frequent computer users are boys. The discourse analysis we have applied as a method tool, showed a reason that seems to be in the way that while those young women see the usefulness of the applications of the computers in everyday life and in the science field, nevertheless they say they don’t want to waste their time with the new situation that are created...

Σκοπός της διατριβής ήταν να εξετάσω με ερευνητικό εργαλείο τις αφηγήσεις ζωής και με μέθοδο ανάλυσης την αφηγηματική ανάλυση (narrative analysis), τις εμπειρίες ζωής γυναικών επιστημόνων στην Ελλάδα –ερευνήτριες και καθηγήτριες πανεπιστημίου που διακρίθηκαν στον τομέα τους– και τους παράγοντες που επέδρασαν ώστε να ασχοληθούν με τις φυσικές επιστήμες, την επιστήμη της μηχανικής, την τεχνολογία και τα μαθηματικά και να εντοπίσω ποιοι ήταν οι σημαντικοί παράγοντες που επέδρασαν ώστε οι αυτές γυναίκες να αναπτύξουν επιστημονική δραστηριότητα στους παραπάνω τομείς. Μέσα από τις αφηγηματικές συνεντεύξεις επιζητούσα να διαπιστώσω πώς συγκροτούν την υποκειμενικότητά τους διαγράφοντας την πορεία της ζωής τους και μιλώντας για τις σχέσεις τους με άλλους, για τους αγώνες τους προκειμένου να συνδυάσουν τις οικογενειακές υποχρεώσεις με το επαγγέλμά τους.
