May I request everyone to please stand for our
prayer. (pupils will follow)
Good morning grade 3! Good morning teacher!
Before you take your sits, kindly pick all the piece
of trash that you can see.
Do we have absences today? None teacher
Nice to hear!
I am glad that all of you are here for our new topic.
B. Reviewing or Presenting the new lesson
TEACHER ACTIVITY STUDENT ACTIVITY

C. Establishing the purpose for the lesson

Before we proceed to our new topic let us have an
activity first. This activity is called "Math flash".
Are you all excited? yes teacher
I have here some flash cards, I want you to answer
it mentally you only have 10 seconds to answer
and the pupils with the highest number of correct
will be the winner and can received a simple token yes teacher!
after class.
is that clear? 1.69 6
let's start. 2. 193
1. 348 x 2 3. 800
2. 48 x 4 4. 470
3. 160 x 5 5. 636
4. 235 x 2
5. 212 x 3

wow!
I am proud that all you can answer mentally keep it
up grade 3.
D. Presenting examples/instances for the new lesson
Based on the activity we have done what do you
think will be our topic today? it's about multiplication.
very good!
our topic today is related to multiplication and this
is about multiplying two - to- five digit numbers by
one- digit multipliers from numbers one-to-five.
Before we continue let me introduce first our
learning objectives.
Tiffany kindly read our objectives. At the end of the lesson, the learner should be able to:
a. differentiate multiplicand from the multiplier,
b. multiply 2 to 5 digital multipliers from numbers
1- 5 ; and
c. solve world problems involving multiplication
Thank you, Tiffy.

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1

Multiplying two-to-five digit numbers by one digit
number from 1 to 5. Meaning we only have one
multiplier in all multiplication sentence.
Miss claudio bought three boxes of face masks. Each
Kindly read the example. pack has 120 pieces. How many pieces of face masks did
she buy?
the total number of face masks Miss claudio buy.
what is being asked in the example?
very good.
120 pcs per pack
In order to find out the answer, we need to write
3 boxes of face masks
the given first.
what are the given?

120 teacher
multiplier, teacher
we already Identify the given now we're going to
its a product teacher
write it in a mathematical sentence.
120 x 3=n
from the mathematical sentence, where do you
think is the multiplicand? Product teacher!

what do we call the number 3?

120
what about the answer?
x 3
very good!
Multiplicand is the number that we add repeatedly 120
and the multiplier is talked how many times the
number need to be added. x 3
0
let's go back to our example.
120
120 X 3=n,
x 3
In order to solve it easily we need to write it
vertically. 360

next, multiply first the digit in ones place of the

multiplicand and by the multiplier.

10
3 x 0 is equal to x 4
40
There are 40 pcs of chocolates Miss Amor bought.
then, multiply the digit in tens place of the
multiplicand and by the multiplier, and so on.
yes teacher

The product is 360. Miss claudio bought 360 pcs.

of face masks.

Let us have another example.

Miss Amor bought 4 box of chocolates. Each box
has 10 pcs chocolate. How many pieces of
chocolates Miss Amor buy?
we have 4 box of chocolates and 10 pcs per box.

Good Job, every one!

Did you understand tha process, on how we come
up with the answer?
Remember that when multiplying, there are times
that regrouping is needed. And will be discussed by
teacher Carmela.
F. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2
Now, we will talked about regrouping in
multiplication. Let us have an example.
The revolution of the earth around the sun takes
365 days. This makes one year. How many days are
there in three years?
we have
365
x 3 15
if we multiply 5 x 3 the answer is?
we're going to regroup or separate 15 into 5 as
ones and 1 as tens or what we call the "carry".
36'5
x 3
5
we have now 1 and 5.

next is multiply, 6x3. The answer is? 18

again, we're going to separate it, 8 as tens and 1 as
hundreds, add the regroup 1ten and 18 tens. This
makes 19 tens. 3'65
regroup 19, 9 as tens and 1 as hundred. x 3
95
then lastly, multiply the hundred place
multiplicand by the multiplier.
3 x 3= 9
add the regroup 1 hundred with 9 hundreds
3'65
x 3
Now,how many days are there in 3 Years? 1095

There are 1095 days in 3 Years.

J. Additional activities

IV. REMARK
V. REFECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation.
B. No. of learners who require additional activities for remediation who
scored below 80%.
C. Did remedial lesson work? No. of learner
D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation.
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials did I use/discover which I
wish to share with other teachers?
