This work has been structured to be divided in two parts: the first section is focused on the epistemological basis with many references at theories and specific studies, instead, the second one, that is the real core of the elaborate, refers to a projectual proposal that embrace a new way to experience and perceive the children’s art museum.
Before the work on the project has begun a previous analysis on the concept of “children’s art” has been made. The main feature of this concept has been enucleated following an aesthetical and a psychological approach.
To consider children as artist is furthermore necessary for building new didactical paths intended to enhance children’s products.
The idea for this museum was born from the willing to realize a place in which children can recognize themselves and their own art. A very special environment that allow them to feel conscious about their creative and artistic power, to feel comfortable with their culture and
works.
A place that might become a bridge between the territory, the scholastic institution and the museum.
The school and the territory, at this point, are ready to configure as a network system that is capable to give new life to artistic education and children’s art.
Every actor of this system has been taken into exam to show its connection with children’s art and art’s education.
At the end of this analysis it has been definitively shown how a children’s museum like this is supposed to be and act with this aims in mind.

The word " story " mean much more than a story from a book. This inquiry is based on how the word " story " is lived among a group of infants and toddlers. The aim of this inquiry is not only to find out the stories of children, but also to inquire how stories are lived in the Sunlight Room. The Sunlight Room is a branch of one of the early childhood centers, which has an infant toddler program. The inquiry was carried out through close observation of the room and the children during a relatively long span of time. Videos and photos were the main tools to capture what was being observed. The inquiry demonstrated that everything is a story in the Sunlight Room and everyone in the room has a story. Also the stories that start in the Sunlight Room, can continue outside it.

This catalogue accompanied the exhibition of the same title, which took place at the Visitor Centre, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, between 7th December 2002 and 5th January 2003. This was to be the culmination of my one year as Feiweles Trust Bursary Holder/Artist in Residence; a residency I undertook as a painter and educator. During my tenure I worked extensively with the education programme and YSP, Leeds University staff and students, and many schools and colleges from across the region. The exhibition comprised of sixteen carefully-chosen works on paper from almost ninety completed workshops with pupils and students (I worked with all age groups, from pre-school to A-level, both on and off-site). In addition, I exhibited seven oil paintings that were a direct response to my time here. All of the works exhibited have been reproduced in this catalogue. The Feiweles Trust Bursary was founded in 1989 in recognition of the contribution made by Joe Feiweles to the development of arts and education in the Wakefield area. Each year the bursary is awarded to a creative practitioner in a particular discipline.

The catalog chapter concerns Friedl Dicker Brandais, the Austrian artist art education practice in the Theresienstadt ghetto in the early 1940s. The authors interrogate artist's practice as an empowerment tool for the Jewish children in the Holocaust's threat.
