DESIGN FOR EMBLEMATIC VASE.
Specification forming part of D( sign No. 7,807, dated October 27, 1874 application filed September 15, 1874. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, Josms R. KING, of the city of St. Paul, county of Ramsey and State of Minnesota, have invented a Design for an Emblematic Vase or Holy-\Vater Vessel, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of in v design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing", to which reference is made.
A represents a cross, having the initials I. H. S. B represents a flame, into which the cross A is inserted. 0 represents a cover to the part D, and upon the top of which rests the flame B. 1) represents the body of the vessel, made of any suitable material, and in the form and shape of a human heart. E represents a crown of thorns woven around the base of the body, forming a receptacle for such base to rest upon, and into which the vessel is inserted.
The crown may be composed of willow wood or other suitable material.
I represents the base upon which the vessel and crown rest, and which may bear upon its front the words Holy \Vater, or an y other appropriate inscriptit'm, the whole forming a new, useful, and ornamental design.
I am aware of the fact that the cross, flame, heart, and crown are found together on lithographic and steel prints; but 1 am not aware of said emblems ever having been combined in the manner and for the purpose described by me.
\Vhat I claim as my invention, therefore, is-
The emblematic vase or design for a holywater vessel, substantially as herein shown and described.
