DESIGN FOR A PLAYING-CARD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,473, dated December 5. 1882.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that l, GEORGE G. Wnt'rE, a I citizen of the United States, residing at the: city of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new I and original Design for one ot'a Pack of Playlug-Cards, known as the Ace of Spades, of t which the following isa description, reference beinghadtotheaccompanyingdrawings,formy ing a part thereof. L
The leading feature of my design consists in a solid figure or emblem of an ace of spades, i having a heavy border following the contour of the ace spot or pip, saidborder having ina nerandouter thin lines ofthe same contiguration. Upon the face of the ace-spot appears 1 an ornamental design consisting of two dove-s, F bow and arrows, and flowers, together with a flowing ribbon. The ace-spot is surrounded with floral ornamentation, a basket appearing to the left and bag-pipes to the right thereof,
above which is a coronet. At the upper part of the floral ornamentation and as if seated thereon, on theleft side, is a female figure, and on the right a male figure. Below the ace-spot, on ribbon scrolls, appear the following words: Gem No. 53 N. Y. Consolidated Card Co.; but these words form no essential part of my design, and are not herein claimed.
\Vhnt [claim is- The design for the ace of spades of a pack of cards, as shown and described, the same consisting of an ace-spot surrounded with one heavy and two lighter configurative borders, interior and exterior floral and musical ornamentation, the representation ofa female and male figures, an upper coronet, and lower rihbon scrolls, all arranged as described.
