Description

CHARLES CASPER, CF MERIDEN, CCNNECTICT, ASSIGNOR TO THE UERIDEN SILVER-PLATE COMPANY, 0F SAME PLACE.
Design No. 4,614, dated January 31, 1871.
DESIGN FOR A DESSERT-SET.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom fit may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES GAsrnR, of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Couuectieut, have invented a new Design for Dessert- Set; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the saine, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents in` Figure 1, a side view of the spoon-holder;
Figure 2, a side View ofthe sugar, turned one-fourth around from iig. l;
Figure 3, a side View ot' thc cream; and in Figure 4, the glass detached from the frame.
This invention relates to a design for the service known to the trade as dessert-set, consisting of three piecesspoon-holder, sugar, and crcani; and
The design consists in the peculiar forni of a glass body, combined with a metallic frame for supporting the same, as fully shown in the accompanying drawing.
The general form of the body of each of the pieces,
which are formed from glass, is the same, the spoonholder being shown in iig. 4.
The body is octagonal in forni, of equal diameter from the bottom to the top, four of the sides being ninch longer than the other four, the four shorter sides heilig practically but a break or turn of the angles oi' a square vessel, as seen in iig. 4.
The sugar is provided with a cover and the cream with a spout, and each of these is fitted with a inetallic frame to afford handles for its use, it beingT understood that the design is for the particular con: figuration or form of the glass body when combined with a frame for its support, and form handles.
I do not wish to be understood as combining the three articles, as they may be used singly or collectively, but the three constitute a set.
I claim as my invention- 'lhe design for a. dessert-set, as herein described and shown.
