Description

@uiten tstes stent @frn GEORGE LOVEJOY, OF DEPOSIT, NEW YORK.
Design No. 2,632, dated April 23, 1867.
DESIGN POR A FENCE PANEL.
die Sulphate rrfmtt tu in time ettrrs intent mit mating part nf tigt sima.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, GEORGE LOVEJOY, of Deposit, Broome county, New York, have invented a new and improved Design for a. Fence Panel; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and usc the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which- The ligure is a side view of two adjacent panels of a fence constructed according to my improved design.
My invention has for its object to furnish an improved design for an ornamental fence, which shall be simple in construction, easily built, and at the same time highly ornamental. And it consists in the design for a fence panel hereinafter more fully described.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A represents the end and corner, and B the intermediate posts of the fence, which may be cased, capped, set in the ground, and connected to each other by horizontal rails C, in the ordinary manner. The tops of the intermediate posts may be surrounded with ornamental work if desired. To the upper sides of the central part of the lower horizontal rail C is securely attached a. scmicircular block, D, having a shoulder formed upon its curved or circular edge for the reception of the lower ends of the radiating slats E. The outer parts of the radiating slats E, that rise above the upper horizontal rail C, are nailed or otherwise securely attached to said rail. The outer ends of the other slats are secured to vertical cleats attached to the sides of the posts A and B, or to shoulders formed upon said sides, as shown in the drawing. The heads of the nails or bolts that secure the inner ends of the slats or pickets E to the semicireular block D, should be large, so as to give a finished appearance to the fence panel.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for fence panels, herein shown and described.
The above specification of my invention signed by me this 13th day of March, 1867.
GEORGE LOVEJOY.
