Be it known that 1, CHARLES II. BEELEE, Jr., a citizen of the United States, residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a i new and useful Design for a Font of Printing- Type, of which the following is a specification.

My design for a fontof printing-type is clearly illustrated in the accompanying typographical impression, which shows the upper and lower case letters of the font.

The leading features of the design are the special shape and ornamentation given to the npper-case letters and the quadrangular effect given to the lower-case letters, which in general appearance accord with the uppercase letters.

The letters A, B, C, D, G, K, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, U, V, XV, X, and Y each have a well-defined scroll in the make up of the character,

: and one or'inore of the'terminals of the letters A, K, M, V, and \V are curved and end in a ball. The other letters of the font are in keeping with the ornamentation above alluded to.

The lower-case letters have the appearance :5 of being quadrangular, a number of the letters having sharp corners somewhat similar to the letters of the upper case and the extensions above and below the line are short.

I claim-- 0 The design for a font of printing type as herein described and as shown in the accompanying typographical impression.
