DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRINTING-TYPE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,030, dated May 4, 189'?.

Be it known that I, THEODORE WAGNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Font of Printing-Type, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The leading or material feature of my design is a black-letter type modified in details of outline. Some of the characters may be embellished with cross-lines or harpstrings in the open parts and with scrolls or tendril-like or vine-like terminals.
In the accompanying drawing, illustrating my design, are shown examples of the upper case, the lower case, the numerals, and other usual signs or points.
In the upper case all available open spaces are provided with parallel lines or harpstrings running obliquely, as in the B,'&c., and the terminals are provided with scrolls or tendril-like or vine-like extensions, as in the D J V WV, 85e.
The lower case is distinguished by its detailed outline and also by the scroll, tendrillike, or vine-like terminals in such letters as e r, dac.
The numerals and points follow the upper case in general and detail appearance.
Vhat I Claim is- The design for a font of printing-type, substantially as shown and described.
