THEODORE IIAVILAND, OF AMBAZAC, FRANCE.
DESIGN FOR A DISH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,199, dated February 7, 1893. Application filed January 10. 1893. 8erial No. 457,951- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THEODORE HAVILAND, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ambazao, in the Department of Haute Vienne, and Republic of France, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Dishes; and I do hereby declare the following to be afull, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a. part thereof, wherein the figure illustrating my design shows the side elevation of a covered dish.
The leading feature of my design consists in the body of the dish of oval contour having upon its outer convexed surface a handle set between two shell like ornamentations passing out from the extreme end of the barn dle and spreading away therefrom in the form shown. The cover represents an enlarged shell with flutes or grooves beginning near the convex top and passing downward to the periphery thereof where the said grooves terminets in the orispated or dentated marginal edge. Surrnounting the cover, a shell set upon the edge forms the handle. This shell appears to arise from the center of the cover from its seat upon a series of smaller shell formations.
