DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,560, dated March 3, 1891. Application filed February 6, 1891- Serial No. 380,519. Term of patent 3 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
30 itknown that I, HENRY O. SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, in the county and State of New York, haveim 'ented and produced a new and original Design for (Jane or Umbrella Ilandles,of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the aeeon'ipanying drawing forming part thereof.
In the drawing is shown a side elevation of a cane or u mhrella handle illnstrati ng my new design.
The shank A is formed with a swelling portion of highly-ornamented work G. It is bounded on the bottom by an annular band F, ornamented to a slight extent, and on the top with asmooth annular band E. Extending npwardly from the band Eis aloop 15, the
base of which is formed with a series of grooves 01' ribs D. The narrow end of the loop B extends downward and is united with the part I) near the annular band E and is finished with a scroll ornamentation C.
The handle may be made of any suitable material.
Having now described my new design, what I claim new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for cane or umbrella handles, substantially as herein described and shown. In testimony of which invention I have hereunto set my hand.
