DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRINTING-TYPE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,950, dated April 8, 1884.

Application filed February 28,1884. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM W. J ACKSON, (assignor to MACKELLAR, SMITHS & J OR- DAN,) ofthe city and county of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Font of Printing-Type, of which the following is a specification.

The nature of my design is clearly shown in the accompanying typographic impression, to which reference is made; and it consists of an ornamented letter of the class known as antique, shaded upon its face by a series oflight horizontal lines. In the A, B, D, H, I, J, K, M, N, O, P, Q, B, U, V, W, X, and Y the termination at the upper left-hand corner is rounded, as shown, and the A, B, D, H, P, and

R are ornamented by the dot placed about centrally upon the left hand of the up-anddown portion. The C, E, F, G, M, N, and T are further ornamented upon their face, near the upper part, by the heavy dot, which also is found in the S and Q above and below the center of the letters.

The character of the design is preserved in the lower-case and numerals, as shown.

Having now described my design, I claim as new-- The design for a font of printingtype, as shown and described.
