Be it known that I, HERMAN IHLENBU no, (assignor to MACKELLAR, SMI'rIIs & JORDAN,) of the city and county of IhiladelphiaJennsyl- Vania, have invented and produced anew and original Design for a Font of Printing-Type, of which the following is a specification.

The nature of my design is clearly shown in the accompanying typographic impression, to which reference is made; and it consists of a text-letter the heavy lines of which are shaded The character of the design is preserved in the lower-case and numerals, save that the groundwork ornamentation is omitted.

In connection with the font are shown a series of ornamental adjuncts placed upon the left hand and right hand of the numerals, and reference is made to the typographic impression, which shows fac-simiies of the faces of 25 these ornamental adjuncts.
