Abstract
Un motor híbrido de aire de ciclo dividido incluye un cigüeñal girable. Un pistón de compresión es recibido deslizablemente dentro de un cilindro de compresión y conectado operativamente al cigüeñal. Un pistón de expansión es recibido deslizablemente dentro de un cilindro de expansión y conectado operativamente al cigüeñal. Un pasaje de cruzamiento interconecta los cilindros de compresión y expansión. El pasaje de cruzamiento incluye una válvula de compresión de cruzamiento (XovrC) y una válvula de expansión de cruzamiento (XovrE) que define una cámara de presión entre las mismas. El motor es operable en un modo de Expansor de Aire y Encendido (AEF).
