Abstract
Un motor híbrido de aire de ciclo dividido incluye un cigüeñal girable. Un pistón de compresión es recibido deslizablemente dentro de un cilindro de compresión y conectado operativamente al cigüeñal. Una válvula de admisión que controla selectivamente el flujo de aire en el cilindro de compresión. Un pistón de expansión recibido deslizablemente dentro de un cilindro de expansión y conectado operativamente al cigüeñal. El pasaje de cruzamiento incluye una válvula de compresión de cruzamiento (XovrC) y una válvula de expansión de cruzamiento (XovrE) entre los mismos. Un depósito de aire se conecta operativamente al pasaje de cruzamiento. Una válvula de depósito de aire controla selectivamente el flujo de aire dentro y fuera del depósito de aire. En un modo de Encendido y Carga (FC) del motor, la válvula de depósito de aire se mantiene cerrada hasta que la válvula XovrE se cierre sustancialmente durante una sola rotación del cigüeñal tal que el cilindro de expansión se carga con el aire comprimido antes de que el depósito de aire se cargue con el aire comprimido.
