Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una unidad de almacenamiento de acceso directo, la cual comprende un medio de almacenamiento y por lo menos un transductor configurado en juxtaposición con dicho medio, y un elemento para generar un desplazamiento periódico mutuo entre dicho medio de almacenamiento y dicho transductor, caracterizada porque dicho medio de almacenamiento se sujeta a un dispositivo de posicionamiento de dos dimensiones rígidamente anclado, porque dicho transductor toma la forma de un detector de corriente de túnel que incluye una punta afilada que confronta dicho medio de almacenamiento y se sujeta a una viga voladiza, por lo que la distancia mutua entre dicha punta y la superficie del medio de almacenamiento puede ser ajustada, y porque dicho elemento para generar un desplazamiento periódico mutuo entre el medio de almacenamiento y dicha punta, incluye un elemento para energizar periódicamente la entrada de control de dicho dispositivo de posicionamiento de dos dimensiones, estando dicha distancia en el margen nanométrico, y la lectura y/o escritura de la información digital desde y hacia el medio de almacenamiento es por medio de la variación de la corriente de túnel que fluye a través del hueco entre dicha punta y la superficie de dicho medio de almacenamiento.
