Claims (8)
- 오염 제어 장치로서,
내벽을 갖는 하우징과,
상기 하우징 내에 배치되어 상기 하우징과의 사이에 간극을 형성하는 오염 제어 요소와,
다층 매트를 포함하며,
상기 다층 매트는,
a) 무기 섬유를 포함하고, 노출된 주 표면, 길이, 및 대향 측부 에지에 의해 한정된 폭을 갖는 적어도 하나의 제1 층 - 상기 제1 층의 길이는 상기 제1 층의 폭보다 크고, 상기 다층 매트가 오염 제어 장치에 오염 제어 요소를 장착할 때 상기 제1 층의 적어도 하나의 측부 에지는, 상기 제1 층의 적어도 하나의 측부 에지와 접촉하는, (i) 오염 제어 장치를 통과하는 배기 가스의 영향에 의해 발생되는 기계적인 침식력 및 (ii) 오염 제어 장치를 통과하는 배기 가스와 관련된 고온 중 적어도 하나에 대한 노출로부터 보호되어야 함 -;
b) 무기 섬유를 포함하고, 길이, 및 대향 측부 에지에 의해 한정된 폭을 갖는 적어도 하나의 제2 층 - 상기 제2 층의 적어도 하나의 측부 에지는 (i) a)(i)에서와 동일한 배기 가스의 영향에 의해 발생되는 기계적인 침식력 및 (ii) a)(ii)에서와 동일한 배기 가스와 관련된 고온 중 적어도 하나에 대한 노출을 견디도록 탄성적이고 내구성이 있음 -
을 포함하고,
각각의 제1 층은 하나 이상의 제2 층의 폭보다 작은 폭을 갖고, 상기 다층 매트는, 상기 적어도 하나의 제1 층 및 상기 적어도 하나의 제2 층 중 어느 하나가 다른 하나의 상부에 적층되도록, 상기 하우징 내에 오염 제어 요소를 장착하기 위해 상기 간극 내에 배치되며, 적어도 하나의 제2 층의 대향 측부 에지는 오염 제어 장치를 통과하는 배기 가스에 노출되고, 각각의 제1 층의 상기 적어도 하나의 측부 에지는 하나 이상의 제2 층의 대향 측부 에지들 사이에 위치되어, 상기 다층 매트가 오염 제어 장치에 장착될 때 하나 이상의 제2 층의 적어도 하나의 측부 에지는 오염 제어 장치를 통과하는 배기 가스에 대한 노출로부터 각각의 제1 층의 적어도 하나의 측부 에지를 보호하는 오염 제어 장치. - 제1항에 있어서, 상기 적어도 하나의 제1 층과 상기 적어도 하나의 제2 층은 각각 비팽창성 층 또는 팽창성 층을 포함하는 오염 제어 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 적어도 하나의 제1 층은 비팽창성 층이고 상기 적어도 하나의 제2 층은 팽창성 층이거나, 상기 적어도 하나의 제1 층은 팽창성 층이고 상기 적어도 하나의 제2 층은 비팽창성 층인 오염 제어 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 적어도 하나의 제1 층과 상기 적어도 하나의 제2 층은 각각의 제1 층의 양 측부 에지가 하나 이상의 제2 층의 측부 에지 내에 위치하도록 서로에 대해 배치되는 오염 제어 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 하나 이상의 제1 층의 적어도 하나의 측부 에지와 나란하게 배치된 하나 이상의 층의 스트립을 추가로 포함하고, 각각의 스트립과 상기 하나 이상의 제1 층의 합한 폭은 각각의 제2 층의 폭과 동일하거나 제2 층의 폭보다 작은 오염 제어 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 하우징의 내벽의 일부가 리세스를 형성하고, 상기 매트는, 상기 적어도 하나의 제1 층이 상기 리세스 내에 수용되고, 상기 적어도 하나의 제1 층 각각의 측부 에지의 하나만이 상기 오염 제어 장치를 통과하는 배기 가스에 노출되거나 상기 적어도 하나의 제1 층 각각의 측부 에지들이 상기 오염 제어 장치를 통과하는 배기 가스로부터 차폐되도록 위치되는 오염 제어 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제6항에 있어서, 하나의 제2 층은 상기 오염 제어 요소에 접촉하도록 위치되며, 하나의 제1 층은 상기 하우징의 내벽에 접촉하도록 위치되는 오염 제어 장치.
- 제1항 또는 제6항에 있어서, 상기 장치는 촉매 변환기 또는 배기 시스템 필터인 오염 제어 장치.
