Claims (8)
- 횡전계 방식(IPS) 액정표시소자에 있어서, 하부 투명기판 위에 투명 또는 불투명 공통신호선이 게이트 버스 라인과 같은 층에 형성되고, 상기 공통 신호선 위에 절연막을 덮은 후 절연막 위에 데이터 버스 라인을 형성시킨다. 화소 전극을 형성 시키는데 있어서, 제 1화소 전극와 제 2화소 전극으로 분리하여 각각의 화소 전극에 연결된 박막 트랜지스터를 통하여 제 1화소 전극과 제 2화소 전극에 서로 다른 극성의 전압을 인가 하는 것을 특징으로 하며, 세로방향으로 패턴되어 있는 제 1화소전극과 제 2화소전극, 즉 분리된 두 그룹의 화소 전극간에 횡전계(in-plane electric field)가 형성되어 상기 화소 전극 상부에 위치한 액정층은 광학적 등방 상태로부터 전압 인가에 의해 광학적 이방성이 생기는 특징을 갖는 것과, 상, 하부 약쪽 기판에 배향막이 코팅되이 있지 않는 것과, 상기 액정을 기판에 두개의 박막 트랜지스터로 구동되는 두개의 화소 전극 사이에 생기는 전위차에 의해 상기 액정층에 전계를 인가하는 콜레스테릭 블루상 액정을 이용한 인플레인 스위칭 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,제 1화소 전극의 폭과 제 2화소 전극의 폭이 10㎛이하로 형성하고, 제 1화소 전극과 제 2화소 전극 사이의 간격이 50㎛이하로 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 콜레스테릭 블루상 액정을 이용한 인플레인 스위칭 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,제 1화소전극과 제 2화소전극이 상하 거울상 세로방향으로 패턴되어 있는 구조로 이중도메인을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 콜레스테릭 블루상 액정을 이용한 인플레인 스위칭 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,제 1화소전극과 제 2화소전극이 가로방향으로 패턴되어 있는 구조를 특징으로 하는 콜레스테릭 블루상 액정을 이용한 인플레인 스위칭 액정표시장치.
- 제 3항에 있어서,제 1화소전극과 제 2화소전극이 좌우 거울상 가로방향으로 패턴되어 있는 구조로 이중도메인을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 콜레스테릭 블루상 액정을 이용한 인플레인 스위칭 액정표시장치.
- 제 3항에 있어서,제 1화소전극과 제 2화소전극이 상하 거울상 가로방향으로 패턴되어 있는 구조로 이중도메인을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 콜레스테릭 블루상 액정을 이용한 인플레인 스위칭 액정표시장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,제 1화소전극과 제 2화소전극이 가로방향, 세로방향으로 패턴되어 있는 구조로 이중도메인을 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 콜레스테릭 블루상 액정을 이용한 인플레인 스위칭 액정표시장치.
- 제 1, 3항에 있어서,90도로 크로스니콜 되어있는 제 1편광판과 제 2편광판이 전계방향과 45도를 이루는 구조를 특징으로 하는 콜레스테릭 블루상 액정을 이용한 인플레인 스위칭 액정표시장치.
