Claims (20)
- 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 소자와 구동 회로로 각각 구성되는 디스플레이 화소들의 어레이를 포함하는 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 장치에 있어서,상기 구동 회로는 화소 구동 신호에 반응하여 공급 전압을 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 소자쪽으로 선택적으로 전환시키거나 또는 상기 디스플레이 소자를 공급 전압으로부터 실질적으로 차단시키기 위한 스위칭 장치를 포함하고,상기 구동 회로는 복수의 공급 전압들중 선택된 한 전압이 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 소자쪽으로 전환되도록 실행하는 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 각 화소는 복수의 공급 전압 라인들로부터 선택된 공급 전압을 화소 구동 회로에 제공하기 위한 멀티플렉서(multiplexer)를 포함하는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 스위칭 장치는 공급 전압 라인과 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 소자 사이에 결합된 박막 트랜지스터를 포함하고, 이 트랜지서는 화소 구동 신호에 의해서 실질적으로 완전히 구동되거나 또는 구동되지 않는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 3개의 공급 전압 라인이 있는전계발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서, 상기 3개의 공급 전압 라인의 전압은 실질적으로 비율이 1:2:4인 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 5 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 각 화소는 스위칭 장치를 작동하기 위한 제 1 화소 구동 신호 도체와, 복수의 공급 전압중 한 전압을 선택하기 위한 제 2 화소 구동 신호 도체를 포함하는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 4 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 복수의 공급 전압 라인들중 하나는 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 소자를 끄기 위한 전압인 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서, 복수 그룹의 화소들이 규정되고, 각 그룹의 모든 화소들은 공통 화소 구동 신호 도체를 공유하지만, 공급 전압은 그룹 내의 각 화소에 대해서 독립적으로 선택될 수 있는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 복수의 공급 전압들중 선택된 한 전압은 화소들의 어레이 외부에 있는 구동 회로에 의해서 디스플레이의 화소들로 공급되는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 9 항중 어느 한 항에 기재된 디스플레이 장치를 포함하는 휴대용 전자 장치.
- 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 소자와 구동 회로로 각각 구성되는 화소들의 어레이를 포함하는 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법에 있어서,상기 구동 방법은 디스플레이의 각 화소에 대하여, 공급 전압이 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 소자로 전환되도록 또는 실질적으로 전계발광(EL) 디스플레이 소자로부터 차단되도록 화소를 켜거나 또는 끄는 것을 선택적으로 전환하기 위하여 제 1 구동 신호를 화소로 공급하는 공정을 포함하고,복수의 공급 전압 레벨들로부터 공급 전압 레벨을 선택하는 공정을 추가로 포함하는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 11 항에 있어서, 제 2 구동 신호는 복수의 공급 전압 레벨들중 한 전압을 선택하기 위하여 화소에 공급되는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 12 항에 있어서, 제 2 구동 신호는 화소의 전력 라인 선택 회로에 공급되는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 11 항 내지 제 13 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 제 1 구동 신호는 화소의어드레스 트랜지스터로 공급되고 화소의 구동 트랜지스터가 켜지거나 또는 꺼지도록 실행하는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 12 항 또는 제 13 항에 있어서, 공유된 제 1 구동 신호는 한 그룹의 화소들로 공급되고, 개별적인 제 2 구동 신호들은 화소들로 그룹으로 공급되는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 15 항에 있어서, 복수의 공급 전압 레벨들중 한 전압 레벨은 화소를 끄기 위한 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 11 항 내지 제 16 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 디스플레이의 모든 화소들은 프레임 내에 어드레스되고, 각 프레임은 다수의 서브-프레임들을 포함하는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 17 항에 있어서, 다른 공급 전압 레벨들은 다른 서브-프레임들에 대해서 선택되는 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 18 항에 있어서, 서브-프레임들은 동일한 지속기간인 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
- 제 17 항 내지 제 19 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 서브-프레임들의 수는 3개인 전계발광 디스플레이 장치의 구동 방법.
