Claims (6)
- 복수의 주사전극 (Sc1-Scj), 복수의 전극쌍을 형성하기 위하여 상기 복수의 주사전극과 각각 쌍을 이루는 복수의 유지전극 (Su1-Suj), 복수의 데이터전극 그룹 (DA, DB) 으로 분할된 복수의 데이터전극 (Da1-Dam, Db1-Dbn), 및 상기 복수의 전극쌍 및 상기 복수의 데이터전극과 선택적으로 연관되고 이미지를 형성하기 위하여 선택적으로 점화되는 복수의 픽셀 (Ca11-Cbnj) 을 갖는 PDP 의 제어방법으로서,a) 상기 복수의 픽셀에 기입방전을 선택적으로 발생시키기 위하여, 소정 필드의 제 1 시기 (B) 에서 서로 지연되고 충격계수가 다른 복수의 데이터펄스 (Pd1/Pd2, Pd11/Pd12) 및 주사펄스 (Pw) 를 상기 복수의 데이터전극 그룹의 복수의 데이터전극으로는 선택적으로 그리고 상기 주사전극으로는 연속적으로 각각 공급하는 단계;b) 제 1 소정의 픽셀이 점화되어 있도록 하기 위하여, 상기 소정 필드의 제 2 시기 (C) 에서 제 1 유지펄스 (Ps) 및 상기 제 1 유지펄스와 위상이 다른 제 2 유지펄스 (Pc) 를 상기 복수의 주사전극 및 상기 복수의 유지전극으로 공급하는 단계;c) 상기 복수의 픽셀에 상기 기입방전을 선택적으로 발생시키기 위하여, 또다른 필드의 상기 제 1 시기 (B) 에서 상기 주사펄스 및 상기 복수의 데이터펄스를 상기 주사전극으로는 연속적으로 그리고 상기 복수의 데이터전극 그룹의 상기 복수의 데이터전극으로는 선택적으로 각각 공급하는 단계; 및d) 상기 제 2 소정의 픽셀이 점화되어 있도록 하기 위하여, 상기 또다른 필드의 제 2 시기 (C) 에서 상기 제 1 유지펄스 및 상기 제 2 유지펄스를 상기 복수의 주사전극 및 상기 복수의 유지전극으로 공급하는 단계를 구비하고,상기 c) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스는 상기 a) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스로부터 충격계수가 변화되는 것을 특징으로 하는 PDP 제어방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 a) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스 (Pd1, Pd11) 중 하나 및 상기 c) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스 (Pd2, Pd12) 중 또다른 하나는 상기 주사펄스와 펄스폭이 동일하고,상기 a) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스 (Pd2, Pd12) 중 상기 또다른 하나 및 상기 c) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스 (Pd1, Pd11) 중 상기 하나는 상기 a) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스중 상기 하나 및 상기 c) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스중 상기 또다른 하나보다 펄스폭이 작고 그로부터 지연되는 것을 특징으로 하는 PDP 제어방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 a) 단계 전 상기 b) 단계 및 상기 c) 단계 사이에 벽전위를 발생시키기 위하여, 프라이밍 방전펄스 (Pw) 및 소거펄스 (Pe) 를 상기 복수의 주사전극 및 상기 복수의 유지전극에 공급하는 단계를 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 PDP 제어방법.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 a) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스 (Pd1, Pd11) 중 하나 및 상기 c) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스 (Pd2, Pd12) 중 또다른 하나는 상기 주사펄스와 펄스폭이 동일하고,상기 a) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스 (Pd2, Pd12) 중 상기 또다른 하나 및 상기 c) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스 (Pd1, Pd11) 중 상기 하나는 상기 a) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스중 상기 하나 및 상기 c) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스중 상기 또다른 하나보다 펄스폭이 작고 그로부터 지연되는 것을 특징으로 하는 PDP 제어방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, a) 단계전에 소정의 수 이상인지 여부에 관계없이 각 주사전극 상에 점화될 픽셀 (Ca11/Ca21/Cam-11/Cam1/Cb11/Cb21/Cbn-11/Cbn1, Ca12/Cb12) 의 수를 결정하는 단계를 더 포함하고,상기 소정의 수는 데이터 펄스의 낮은 전위레벨 하에서 점화된 픽셀의 최대수를 지시하는 것을 특징으로 하는 PDP 제어방법.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 점화될 상기 픽셀의 수가 상기 소정의 수 이하일 때, 상기 복수의 데이터전극에는 상기 a) 및 c) 단계에서의 상기 복수의 데이터펄스 대신에 상기 주사펄스(Pw) 와 폭이 동일한 데이터 펄스 (Pd11, Pd12) 가 공급되는 것을 특징으로 하는 PDP 제어방법.
