Claims (2)
- 전계 무인가 상태로 면 내 한쪽 방향에 배향한 액정 분자를 포함한 액정층을 구비하는 액정 셀과,
상기 액정 셀의 한쪽의 측에 배치된 제1의 편광자와,
흡수축이 상기 제1의 편광자의 흡수축과 직교하도록 상기 액정 셀의 다른 한쪽의 측에 배치된 제2의 편광자를 구비하며,
상기 제1의 편광자와 상기 액정 셀과의 사이에는, 상기 제1의 편광자 측으로부터 순서대로, 제1의 위상차층과 제2의 위상차층이 배치되며, 상기 제1의 위상차층은, 면 내의 지상축 x방향의 굴절률을 nx1, 진상축 방향의 굴절률을 ny1, 두께 z방향의 굴절률을 nz1로 했을 때, nx1>ny1>nz1의 관계를 만족하는 것이며, 상기 제2의 위상차층은, 면 내의 지상축 x방향의 굴절률을 nx2, 진상축 방향의 굴절률을 ny2, 두께 z방향의 굴절률을 nz2로 했을 때, nz2>nx2>ny2의 관계를 만족하는 것이며, 상기 제1의 위상차층의 지상축과 상기 제2의 위상차층의 지상축이 평행으로 배치된 액정 패널에 있어서,
상기 제1의 편광자와 상기 제2의 편광자의 각각은, 두께가 10μm 이하이며, 단체 투과율이 40.0% 이상, 편광도가 99.8% 이상의 광학 특성을 가지는 것이며,
상기 제2의 편광자는, 그 흡수축이 전계 무인가 상태에 있어서의 상기 액정 셀의 액정 분자의 배향 방향에 평행이 되는 배치로 점착제층을 개재시켜 상기 액정 셀에 직접 접착되며,
상기 액정 셀과는 반대 측의 상기 제2의 편광자의 면에는, 두께가 10~50μm이고, 투습도가 200g/m2 이하의 보호층이 점착제층을 개재시켜 첩합되어 있으며,
상기 제1의 위상차층은, 두께가 25μm 이하, 투습도가 200g/m2 이하이며, 지상축 방향의 굴절률 nx1과 진상축 방향의 굴절률 ny1과의 차이인 Δnxy1의 값이 0.0036 이상, 지상축 방향의 굴절률 nx1과 두께 z방향의 굴절률 nz1과의 차이인 Δnxz1의 값이 0.0041 이상으로 되고, 면 내 위상차 Re가 90nm~140nm의 범위 내이고, 또한, 상기 제1의 위상차층의 두께를 d1로 했을 때, Rth=(nx1-nz1) x d1로 나타내지는 두께 방향 위상차 Rth가 100nm~240nm의 범위 내가 되어 있으며,
상기 제2의 위상차층은, 두께가 20μm 이하이며, 지상축 방향의 굴절률 nx2와 진상축 방향의 굴절률 ny2와의 차이인 Δnxy2의 값이 0.0050 이상, 지상축 방향의 굴절률 nx2와 두께 z방향의 굴절률 nz2와의 차이인 Δnxz2의 값이 -0.0030 이하로 되고, 면 내 위상차 Re가 15nm~50nm의 범위 내이고, 또한, 상기 제2의 위상차층의 두께를 d2로 했을 때, Rth=(nx2-nz2) x d2로 나타내지는 두께 방향 위상차 Rth가 -110nm~-60nm의 범위 내가 되어 있으며,
상기 제1의 위상차층은, 25℃에 있어서의 저장 탄성률이 3×105~1×108Pa의 범위이며, 두께가 0.1μm~5.0μm인 광경화형의 접착제를 이용한 접착제층을 개재시켜 상기 제2의 위상차층에 적층되어 있으며,
상기 제1의 편광자에는, 상기 제1의 위상차층과는 반대 측의 면에, 두께가 50μm 이하이고 투습도가 200g/m2 이하의 보호층이 설치된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 패널. - 전계 무인가 상태로 면 내 한쪽 방향에 배향한 액정 분자를 포함한 액정층을 구비하는 액정 셀과, 상기 액정 셀의 양측에 흡수축이 서로 직교하도록 배치된 한 쌍의 편광자를 구비하는 액정 패널에서, 상기 액정 셀과 한쪽의 편광자와의 사이에 배치해 사용되는 편광자와 위상차층과의 적층체에 있어서,
상기 한쪽의 편광자에 인접해서 배치되는 제1의 위상차층과, 상기 제1의 위상차층에 첩합된 제2의 위상차층을 포함하며,
상기 제1의 위상차층은, 면 내의 지상축 x방향의 굴절률을 nx1, 진상축 방향의 굴절률을 ny1, 두께 z방향의 굴절률을 nz1로 했을 때, nx1>ny1>nz1의 관계를 만족하는 것이며, 상기 제2의 위상차층은, 면 내의 지상축 x방향의 굴절률을 nx2, 진상축 방향의 굴절률을 ny2, 두께 z방향의 굴절률을 nz2로 했을 때, nz2>nx2>ny2의 관계를 만족하는 것이며,,
상기 제1의 위상차층은, 두께가 25μm 이하, 투습도가 200g/m2 이하이며, 지상축 방향의 굴절률 nx1과 진상축 방향의 굴절률 ny1과의 차이인 Δnxy1의 값이 0.0036 이상, 지상축 방향의 굴절률 nx1과 두께 z방향의 굴절률 nz1과의 차이인 Δnxz1의 값이 0.0041 이상으로 되고, 면 내 위상차 Re가 90nm~140nm의 범위 내이고, 한편, 상기 제1의 위상차층의 두께를 d1로 했을 때, Rth=(nx1-nz1) x d1로 나타내지는 두께 방향 위상차 Rth가 100nm~240nm의 범위 내가 되어 있으며,
