Abstract
로 나타내는 구조를 갖는 화합물을 사용한다. (식 (1) 중, R1 ∼ R4 는, 각각 독립적으로 탄소수가 4 ∼ 20 인 직사슬형 알킬기로, 각각이 동일하거나 상이해도 되며, A1 및 A2 는, 하기 방향 고리군 A (피롤 고리와의 축합 위치를 나타내기 위해 식 (1) 중의 피롤 고리를 원호 a 로 나타냈다) 에서 선택되는 어느 1 종으로, 각각이 동일하거나 상이해도 되며, 이들은 방향 고리에 치환기를 가져도 된다. Anp- 는 p 가의 아니온으로, p 는 1 혹은 2 이며, q 는 색소 전체의 전하를 중성으로 유지하는 계수이다.

- 색소가 금속 산화물층에 담지된 색소 담지 금속 산화물 전극을 갖는 작용 전극을 구비하는 광전 변환 소자에 있어서,
상기 색소로서, 하기 일반식 (1) :

(식 (1) 중, R1 ∼ R4 는, 각각 독립적으로 탄소수가 4 ∼ 20 인 직사슬형 알킬기로, 각각이 동일하거나 상이해도 되며, A1 및 A2 는, 하기 방향 고리군 A (피롤 고리와의 축합 위치를 나타내기 위해 식 (1) 중의 피롤 고리를 원호 a 로 나타냈다) 에서 선택되는 어느 1 종으로, 각각이 동일하거나 상이해도 되며, 이들은 방향 고리에 치환기를 가져도 된다. Anp- 는 p 가의 아니온으로, p 는 1 혹은 2 이며, q 는 색소 전체의 전하를 중성으로 유지하는 계수이다.
