Claims (11)
- 트랜스리플렉터로서,기판들의 짝을 이룬(mating) 측면들을 따라 함께 유지 또는 결합되는 적어도 2개의 실질적으로 평면형 투명 기판들을 포함하며, 상기 기판들 중 하나의 기판은 다른 기판보다 낮은 굴절률을 갖고, 상기 기판들은 상기 짝을 이룬 측면들로부터 이격되어 서로로부터 떨어지게 향하는 외부 측면들을 가지며, 상기 낮은 굴절률의 기판의 외부 측면은 광원을 향하고, 상기 기판들 중 하나의 기판의 짝을 이룬 측면은 광학 변형물들의 패턴을 가지며, 다른 기판의 짝을 이룬 측면은 상기 광학 변형물들의 실질적으로 반전 패턴을 가져서, 상기 기판들의 굴절률들의 차이들과 상기 광학 변형물들의 패턴 및 반전 패턴으로 인하여, 높은 굴절률의 기판의 외부 측면에 진입하는 주변 광이 상기 짝을 이룬 측면들 사이의 계면에서의 전반사에 의해 상기 높은 굴절률의 기판의 외부 측면 밖으로 다시 반사되도록 하며, 상기 광학 변형물들의 패턴 및 반전 패턴은 상기 낮은 굴절률의 기판으로부터 상기 높은 굴절률의 기판으로 투과되는 광의 방향을 바꾸도록(redirect) 형상화되는,트랜스리플렉터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 낮은 굴절률의 기판의 상기 외부 측면은 상기 광원으로부터 상기 낮은 굴절률의 기판으로 방출되는 광을 투과시키도록 형상화된 광학 변형물들의 제 2 패턴을 갖는, 트랜스리플렉터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 높은 굴절률의 기판의 상기 외부 측면은 상기 높은 굴절률의 기판에 의해 투과되는 광의 방향을 바꾸도록 형상화된 광학 변형물들의 다른 패턴을 갖는, 트랜스리플렉터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광학 변형물들의 패턴 및 반전 패턴은 상기 기판들의 길이 및 폭보다 더 작은 사이즈들을 가진 웰 한정 형상(well defined shape)의 개별적인 광학 변형물들을 포함하는, 트랜스리플렉터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 기판들의 짝을 이룬 측면들을 따라 함께 유지 또는 결합되는 서로 상이한 굴절률들의 2개 보다 많은 투명 기판들을 포함하는, 트랜스리플렉터.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,상기 광원을 향하는 가장 바깥쪽(outmost) 기판의 외부 측면 상에 또는 가장 바깥쪽 기판의 외부 측면 내에 있는 광학 변형물들의 제 2 패턴은 상기 광원에 의 해 방출되는 광을 투과시키도록 형상화되고, 상기 광원으로부터 떨어지게 향하는 상기 가장 바깥쪽 기판의 외부 측면 상에 또는 상기 가장 바깥쪽 기판의 외부 측면 내에 있는 광학 변형물들의 제 3 패턴은 상기 높은 굴절률의 기판으로부터의 광의 방향을 바꾸도록 형상화되는, 트랜스리플렉터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 높은 굴절률의 기판에 의해 투과되는 광을 확산시키거나 또는 광의 방향을 바꾸기 위해 상기 높은 굴절률의 기판의 외부 측면에 제공되는 텍스처, 확산기, 및 휘도 강화(brightness enhancement) 막 중 적어도 하나를 더 포함하는, 트랜스리플렉터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 하나의 기판의 짝을 이룬 측면 상에 또는 상기 하나의 기판의 짝을 이룬 측면 내에 있는 상기 광학 변형물들의 패턴은 미리 형성된 패턴이고, 상기 다른 기판은 상기 다른 기판의 짝을 이룬 측면 상에 또는 상기 다른 기판의 짝을 이룬 측면 내에 있는 상기 광학 변형물들의 반전 패턴을 갖는 자외선 경화가능(curable) 폴리머인, 트랜스리플렉터.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광원으로부터 광을 수신하기 위한 적어도 하나의 입력 에지, 및 상기 낮은 굴절률의 기판의 외부 측면을 향하는 적어도 하나의 패널 표면을 갖는 발광 패널 부재를 포함하는 발광 어셈블리와 조합되어, 상기 광학 변형물들의 패턴 및 반전 패턴은, 상기 낮은 굴절률의 기판의 외부 측면에 대해 보다 수직으로 향하게 상기 발광 어셈블리로부터의 광의 방향을 바꾸고 상기 짝을 이룬 측면들 사이의 계면에서 전반사에 의해 반사되는 주변 광의 각도 일탈(angular divergence)을 감소시키도록 형상화되는, 트랜스리플렉터.
- 제 9 항에 따른 트랜스리플렉터 및 발광 어셈블리의 조합물로서,상기 높은 굴절률의 기판으로부터 투과된 광 및 반사된 광을 수신하는 상기 높은 굴절률의 기판의 외부 측면에 인접한 디스플레이를 더 포함하는,트랜스리플렉터 및 발광 어셈블리의 조합물.
- 제 9 항에 따른 트랜스리플렉터 및 발광 어셈블리의 조합물로서,상기 패널 부재는 상기 패널 표면으로부터 특정 광 출력 분포를 생성하기 위한 개별적인 광학 변형물들의 패턴을 가지며, 상기 패널 부재의 상기 개별적인 광학 변형물들은 상기 패널 표면 외부에서 상기 패널 부재의 상기 광학 변형물들 상에 충돌하는 광을 반사 또는 굴절시키기 위한 적어도 하나의 경사면을 포함하는 웰 한정 형상을 갖는,트랜스리플렉터 및 발광 어셈블리의 조합물.
