Description
Claims (65)
- 대향 배치된 한 쌍의 기판과,상기 한 쌍의 기판 사이에 밀봉되고, 전압 무인가 시에 상기 기판에 대하여 거의 수직으로 배향하는 액정과,상기 한 쌍의 기판의 외측에 각각 배치된 한 쌍의 1/4 파장판과,상기 한 쌍의 1/4 파장판의 외측에 각각 배치된 한 쌍의 편광판과,거의 평탄한 반사면을 갖고, 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 한쪽 측에서 입사하는 빛을 반사하는 반사판을 구비한 반사 영역과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 다른 쪽 측에서 입사하는 빛을 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 한쪽 측에 투과시키는 투과 영역을 구비한 화소 영역을 포함하고,상기 반사판은, 알루미늄층과 상기 알루미늄층 상층에 형성되는 알루미늄 이외로 이루어지는 도전층으로 형성되고, 상기 도전층의 일부가 제거된 영역에서 표면이 노출된 알루미늄층이 반사면으로서 기능하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판의 한쪽의 외측에 배치된 광 산란층을 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 광 산란층은 소정 범위의 입사각으로 입사하는 빛만을 산란시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 반사판은 상기 화소 영역마다 형성된 박막 트랜지스터의 전극과 동일한 형성 재료로 형성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 반사판은 상기 화소 영역마다 형성된 축적 용량의 한쪽의 전극인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 반사판은 기판면과 수직 방향에서 보아, 상기 화소 영역마다 형성된 화소 전극에 중첩되어 배치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 반사판은 상기 화소 전극에 전기적으로 접속되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서,상기 반사판은 상기 화소 전극으로부터 전기적으로 분리되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 반사판은 기판면과 수직 방향에서 보아, 상기 화소 영역마다 형성된 화소 전극에 중첩되지 않도록 배치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.

- 제1항에 있어서,상기 알루미늄층을 피복하여 투명 전극이 형성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 도전층은 티탄층인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 알루미늄층과 알루미늄 이외로 이루어지는 도전층을 이 순서로 형성하는 공정과,상기 도전층 및 상기 알루미늄층을 패터닝하는 공정과,패터닝된 상기 도전층상에 절연층을 형성하는 공정과,상기 도전층 상의 상기 절연층을 제거하여 개구부를 형성한 후에, 상기 개구부를 통하여 노출된 상기 도전층을 제거하여 상기 알루미늄층을 노출시켜, 반사판의 반사면을 형성하는 공정을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 알루미늄층을 피복하는 형태로 투명 전극을 형성하는 공정을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
