Abstract
Description
Claims (19)
- 한 쌍의 기판과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판에 각각 배치된 한 쌍의 편광판과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판에 협지된 액정층과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 적어도 한 쪽에 형성되고, 상기 액정층에 전계를 인가하기 위한 전극군과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 외측에 배치하는 광원으로 이루어지는 액정 표시 장치로서, 상기 한 쌍의 편광판 사이에 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 기판에 각각 배치된 배향막을 갖고, 상기 배향막은 거의 직선으로 편광한 광조사에 의해 배향 제어 기능을 부여 가능한 재료로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층은, 거의 직선으로 편광한 광조사에 의해 일축 흡수 이방성을 나타내는 재료를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 한 쌍의 기판과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판에 각각 배치된 한 쌍의 편광판과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판에 협지된 액정층과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 적어도 한 쪽에 형성되고, 상기 액정층에 전계를 인가하기 위한 전극군과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 외측에 배치 하는 광원으로 이루어지는 액정 표시 장치로서, 상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 적어도 한 쪽이, 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층이, 착색층을 보호하는 기능을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층이, 착색층의 적어도 1색의 색 필터인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층이, 액티브 매트릭스 기판 상의 절연층인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,500㎚ 이하의 단파장 영역에서의 일축 흡수 이방성이, 500㎚보다 장파장에서의 일축 흡수 이방성보다도 강한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 한 쪽이 상기 전극군이 형성된 액티브 매트릭스 기판이고, 상기 액티브 매트릭스 기판에 대향하는 다른 기판이 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 한 쪽이 상기 전극군이 형성된 액티브 매트릭스 기판이고, 상기 액티브 매트릭스 기판이 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서,상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층이, 플루오렌 골격을 갖는 에폭시아크릴레이트계의 수지로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서,상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층이, 아크릴계 중합체의 수지로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층의 흡수축이 상기 한 쌍의 편광판 중 어느 한 쪽의 흡수축과 거의 평행한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판 중, 관찰자측의 기판에 상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층이 형성되고, 그 층의 흡수축이, 상기 액정 표시 패널의 관찰자측에 설치된 편광판의 흡수축과 거의 평행한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판 중, 광원측의 기판에 상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층이 형성되고, 그 층의 흡수축이, 상기 액정 표시 패널의 광원측에 설치된 편광판의 흡수축과 거의 평행한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판에 형성된 배향 제어막 상의 상기 액정층을 구성하는 액정 분자의 장축 방향이, 상기 관찰자측의 기판에 형성된 상기 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층의 흡수축과 거의 평행하거나, 혹은 수직인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판에 형성된 배향 제어막 상의 상기 액정층을 구성하는 액정 분자의 장축 방향이, 상기 배향 제어막에 대하여 거의 수직 방향으로 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 한 쌍의 기판과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판에 각각 배치된 한 쌍의 편광판과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판에 협지된 액정층과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 적어도 한 쪽에 형성되고, 상기 액정층에 전계를 인가하기 위한 전극군과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판의 외측에 배치하는 광원으로 이루어지는 액정 표시 장치로서, 상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 적어도 한 쪽에, 상기 한 쌍의 편광판의 편광도를 보상하는 흡수층이 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 한 쌍의 기판과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판에 각각 배치된 한 쌍의 편광판과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판에 협지된 액정층과, 상기 한 쌍의 기판 중 적어도 한 쪽에 형성되고, 상기 액정층에 전계를 인가하기 위한 전극군으로 이루어지는 액정 표시 패널로서, 상기 한 쌍의 편광판 사이에 일축 흡수 이방성을 갖는 층을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 패널.
