- 에스. 세레비지애 (S. cerevisiae)의 ATF2 유전자를 변경시킴으로써 아세틸-CoA 프레그네놀론 아세틸트랜스퍼라제 (APAT) 활성을 제거한 변형 효모 주.

- 제1항에 있어서, ATF2 유전자가 하나 이상의 뉴클레오티드를 갖는 DNA 서열의 삽입에 의해 변경되는 것인 효모 주.
- 제4항에 있어서, ATF2 유전자가 URA3 선별 유전자, 또는 TEF1 프로모터 및 PGK 터미네이터로 구성되는 발현 블록의 삽입에 의해 변경되는 것인 효모 주.
- 제5항에 있어서, ATF2 유전자가 URA3 선별 유전자의 삽입에 의해 변경되는 것인 효모 주.
- 제6항에 있어서, TGY156(CNCM 수탁번호 I-1977) 또는 TGY158(CNCM 수탁번호 I-1976)로 기탁된 변형된 에스.세레비지애 주.

- 제10항 및 제13항 내지 제21항 중 어느 한 항에 따른 형질전환된 효모 주를 사용하고, 이 주가 내인성 스테롤을 생성할 경우 이를 단독 배양하거나, 또는 외인성 스테롤 또는 스테로이드와 함께 배양하고, 필요에 따라 수득된 산화 화합물을 단리하는 것으로 이루어지는, 내인성 스테롤, 외인성 스테롤 또는 외인성 스테로이드 중에서 선택된 기질의 생체내 산화 방법.
- 제22항에 있어서, 기질이 3β-히드록시스테로이드이고, 제15항에 따른 형질전환된 효모 주가 사용되며, 필요에 따라 수득된 3-옥소-델타4-스테로이드를 단리하는 생체내 산화 방법.
- 제23항에 있어서, 3β-히드록시스테로이드가 프레그네놀론 또는 17α-히드록시프레그네놀론에서 선택되는 것인 생체내 산화 방법.
- 제22항에 있어서, 기질이 스테로이드이고, 제18항에 따른 형질전환된 효모 주가 사용되며, 필요에 따라 수득된 17α-히드록실 스테로이드를 단리하는 생체내 산화 방법.
- 제25항에 있어서, 스테로이드 기질이 프레그네놀론 또는 프로게스테론인 생체내 산화 방법.
- 제22항에 있어서, 기질이 3β-히드록시스테로이드이고, 제20항에 따른 형질전환된 효모 주가 사용되며, 필요에 따라 수득된 17α-히드록실 3-옥소-델타4-스테로이드를 단리하는 생체내 산화 방법.
- 제27항에 있어서, 스테로이드 기질이 프레그네놀론인 생체내 산화 방법.
