Abstract

PURPOSE: To inexpensively treat exhaust gas by blowing powder of a desulfurizing agent into exhaust gas of a higher SOx concn. especially from a sintering zone to remarkably lower the SOx concn. and efficiently recovering the sensible heat of the exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: Wind boxes 5 of the continuous downward suction system sintering facilities are divided into ore feed section group 51 of a lower SOx concn. and sintering section group 52 of a higher SOx concn. in sintering zone A and into high temp. ore cooling section group 53 of a higher exhaust gas temp. and ore discharge section group 54 of a lower exhaust gas temp. in cooling zone B, respectively. Wind boxes 51, 54 of groups 51, 54 are connected to exhaust fan 61 and dust removing unit 91 through exhaust duct 81, and exhaust gases at a lower temp. and a lower SOx concn. from boxes 51, 54 are released 10 into the air after removing dust with unit 91. On the other hand, exhaust gas of a higher SOx concn. from boxes 52 is desulfurized by adding 11 a desulfurizing agent such as slaked lime powder to a suitable position of duct 82, and the desulfurized gas is allowed to join exhaust gas from group 53.
