Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the control of a jet position of ink, by a method wherein a slit- form ink jet port in an electrostatic acceleration type ink jet recorder is divided into an upper and a lower part by the use of a partition, and a plural number of electrodes are placed at given intervals in the two jet ports. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic acceleration type ink jet recorder records such that a large number of electrodes 2 are placed at an inner side of an ink jet port 1 of a recording head, and ink in the jet port 1 is selectively jetted through the selective application of a high-voltage pulse between said electrodes 2 and a grounded conductor 9 at the side of a record paper 5 corresponding to a picture signal. In said ink jet recorder, the jet port 1 is divided into an upper and a lower part through the insertion of a partition 5 into the slit-form jet port 1, which is formed with an upper plate 6 and a lower plate 7, and a large number of electrodes 2 are installed at the inside of so divided jet ports 1a and 1b (upper plate and lower plate surfaces and/or the surfaces of the divided plates). Through the application of a high-voltage to some electrodes and the application of a low-voltage to either an electrode positioned on the right of or an electrode on the left of aforesaid electrode, jetted ink dot moves to the high-voltage side.
