Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve resolution of a record picture, by a method wherein electrodes at one side of an electrostatic acceleration type ink jet device are alternately placed at both sides of a slit-form opening of an ink jet head so as to form checkers. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic acceleration type ink jet recorder, which can perform a plane scanning, records such that a large number of electrodes 3, 3 at one side are situated in an orifice 1 of an ink jet head, the other electrode 4 is placed at the side of a record paper 5 or between the orifice and the record paper, and a high-voltage is selectively applied between the two electrodes 3 and 4 to jet ink through the orifice 1. In said ink jet recorder, the orifice 1, having a slit-form opening, of the ink jet head consists of an upper plate 2a and a lower plate 2b, and narrow electrodes 3, 3' are situated checkerwise by alternately positioning them at the upper plate 2a and the lower plate 2b. This permits the arrangement of the electrodes 3, 3' in a high-density, and resolution of a record picture can thus be improved.
