Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. (a)約0.05〜0.30%のカルシウム; (b)少くとも0.0004%のβ-カロチン; (c)約0.5〜約60%の甘味料; (d)少くとも0.005%のフレーバー;及び (e)残部の水 を含んだ、鉄を実質上含有しない飲料を投与することによる、動物及びヒトでβ -カロチン吸収を高めるための方法。 2. β-カロチンがデキストリン、アラビアガム、デンプン、ゼラチン又は それらの混合物中に封入されている、請求項1に記載の方法。 3. 甘味料がスクロース、フルクトース、ソルビトール、グルコース、高フ ルクトースコーンシロップ、転化糖及びそれらの混合物からなる群より選択され る、請求項2に記載の方法。 4. 甘味料が人工甘味料である、請求項3に記載の方法。 5. フレーバーがチェリー、パイナップル、バナナ又はバナナピューレ、ア プリコット、リンゴ、パパイヤ、マンゴ、シトラス、ブドウ、クランベリー、ロ ハングオ及びそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項3に記載の方法。 6. カルシウムが乳酸カルシウム、酒石酸カルシウム、酢酸カルシウム、ク エン酸カルシウム、リンゴ酸カルシウム、塩化カルシウム、硫酸カルシウム及び それらの混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。 7. カルシウムがクエン酸リンゴ酸カルシウムである、請求項6に記載の方 法。 8. 飲料がビタミンA、ビタミンE、ビタミンD、リボフラビン、ナイアシ ン、パントテン酸、葉酸、チアミン及びそれらの混合物からなる群より選択され るビタミンをRDAの約25〜約500%で含有している、請求項7に記載の方 法。 9. フレーバーがオレンジ、レモン、グレープフルーツ、リンゴ、ナシ、ク ランベリー、パパイヤ、マンゴ、ブドウ、キゥイ、パッションフルーツ、パイナ ップル、アプリコット、ミラベル、モモ、バナナ、マンダリン及びそれらの混合 物からなる群より選択されるジュースである、請求項6に記載の方法。 10. β-カロチンが0.0004〜0.0085%である、請求項9に記 載の方法。 11. 飲料が1〜約4%(w/w)の実質果肉を含有している、請求項10に 記載の方法。 12. 飲料が繊維を含有している、請求項1に記載の方法。 13. フレーバーがオレンジエッセンス及び精油である、請求項6に記載の 方法。 14. フレーバーが果皮油、水性エッセンス及び精油の混合物である、請求 項7に記載の方法。 15. 0.5〜1.6%の繊維を含んだ、請求項12に記載の飲料。 16. (a)約0.15〜約1.0%のカルシウム; (b)少くとも0.018%RDAのβ-カロチン; (c)1〜約60%の甘味料; (d)有効量のフレーバー;及び (e)残部の水 を含んだ、鉄を実質上含有しない濃縮液を投与することによる、β-カロチンの バイオアベイラビリティを高めるための方法。 17. フレーバーが約0.002〜約3%の添加水性及び油エッセンス又は 他のフレーバー物質である、請求項16に記載の方法。 18. ジュースはシトラスジュース、リンゴジュース、ナシジュース、クラ ンベリージュース及びそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項17に 記載の方法。 19. (a)約0.05〜約0.3%のカルシウム; (b)少くとも0.0004%RDAのβ-カロチン; (c)0.5〜約60%の添加甘味料; (d)少くとも0.01%のフレーバー;及び (e)残部の水 を含み、ビタミンを分解する鉄及び他の金属を実質上含有しない、生物学的利用 性のあるβ-カロチンを供給するための飲料。 20. 約0.03〜約5%のガム類を更に含んだ、請求項19に記載の飲料 。 21. ガム類が約0.001〜約0.1%のキサンタンガム、約0.001 〜約0.1%のグアーガム及び0.01〜0.2%のアルギン酸プロピレングリ コールからなる、請求項20に記載の飲料。 22. 約0.01〜0.05%のカルボキシメチルセルロース、約0.05 〜約0.15%のカラゲナン、0.001〜約0.1%のキサンタンガム及びそ れらの混合物からなる群より選択されるガムを更に含んだ、請求項20に記載の 飲料。
