Description
本出願は、2018年4月2日出願の日本出願第2018-070649号に基づく優先権を主張し、前記日本出願に記載された全ての記載内容を援用するものである。
フィラーを含有する樹脂組成物は、粘度が高くなり、塗布性が乏しくなる傾向にある。一方、樹脂組成物の粘度を調整するために、希釈性モノマーの添加量を増やすと、オリゴマーの割合が低下し、樹脂組成物から形成される塗膜が脆くなる傾向にある。また、希釈性モノマーの添加量を増やすと、樹脂組成物から形成される塗膜のヤング率に増加減が生じたり、塗膜の厚みが薄くなってしまい樹脂層の強度が低下したりする。そのため、光ファイバの被覆樹脂層に用いられる樹脂組成物には、塗布性と塗膜物性とを両立することが求められている。
本開示によれば、塗布性と塗膜物性とを両立することができる樹脂組成物、及び当該樹脂組成物から形成される被覆樹脂層を有する光ファイバを提供することができる。
最初に、本開示の実施形態の内容を列記して説明する。本開示の一態様に係る樹脂組成物は、ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、フェノキシ基を有するモノマー及び光重合開始剤を含有するベース樹脂と、疎水性の無機酸化物粒子とを含み、粘度が、45℃で300mPa・s以上4200mPa・s以下であり、フェノキシ基を有するモノマーの含有量が、ベース樹脂の総量を基準として1質量%以上30質量%以下である。
本実施形態に係る樹脂組成物、光ファイバのセカンダリ被覆材料及び光ファイバの具体例を、必要により図面を参照しつつ説明する。なお、本発明はこれらの例示に限定されず、請求の範囲によって示され、請求の範囲と均等の意味及び範囲内でのすべての変更が含まれることが意図される。以下の説明では、図面の説明において同一の要素には同一の符号を付し、重複する説明を省略する。
本実施形態に係る樹脂組成物は、ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、フェノキシ基を有するモノマー及び光重合開始剤を含有するベース樹脂と、疎水性の無機酸化物粒子とを含む。
本実施形態に係るベース樹脂は、フェノキシ基を有するモノマーをベース樹脂の総量を基準として1質量%以上30質量%以下含有している。ベース樹脂が、このような範囲でフェノキシ基を有するモノマーを含有することで、樹脂組成物の塗布性を向上し、光ファイバの被覆用樹脂として適切なヤング率を有する塗膜を形成することができる。フェノキシ基を有するモノマーの含有量は、2質量%以上28質量%以下であることが好ましく、3質量%以上25質量%以下であることがより好ましい。
本実施形態に係る無機酸化物粒子は、球状の粒子であり、その表面が疎水処理されている。本実施形態に係る疎水処理とは、無機酸化物粒子の表面に疎水性の基が導入されていることをいう。疎水性の基が導入された無機酸化物粒子は、樹脂組成物中の分散性に優れている。疎水性の基は、(メタ)アクリロイル基等の反応性基、又は、炭化水素基(例えば、アルキル基)、アリール基(例えば、フェニル基)等の非反応性基であってもよい。無機酸化物粒子が反応性基を有する場合、ヤング率が高い樹脂層を形成し易くなる。
図1は、本実施形態に係る光ファイバの一例を示す概略断面図である。光ファイバ10は、コア11及びクラッド12を含むガラスファイバ13と、ガラスファイバ13の外周に設けられたプライマリ樹脂層14及びセカンダリ樹脂層15を含む被覆樹脂層16とを備えている。
オリゴマーとして、分子量600のポリプロピレングリコール、2,4-トリレンジイソシアネート及びヒドロキシエチルアクリレートを反応させることにより得られたウレタンアクリレートオリゴマー(UA)、並びにエポキシアクリレートオリゴマー(EA)を準備した。
フェノキシ基を有するモノマーとして、3-フェノキシベンジルアクリレート(共栄化学株式会社の商品名「ライトアクリレートPOB-A」)、2-フェノキシエチルアクリレート(共栄化学株式会社の商品名「ライトアクリレートPO-A」)、フェノキシジエチレングリコールアクリレート(共栄化学株式会社の商品名「ライトアクリレートP2H-A」)、及びフェノキシポリエチレングリコールアクリレート(共栄化学株式会社の商品名「ライトアクリレートP-200A」)を準備した。
フェノキシ基を有しないモノマーとして、イソボルニルアクリレート(大阪有機化学工業株式会社の商品名「IBXA」)及びトリプロピレングリコールジアクリレート(ダイセル・オルネクス株式会社の商品名「TPGDA」)を準備した。
光重合開始剤として、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン及び2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキシドを準備した。
無機酸化物粒子として、平均粒径が70~100nmの疎水性シリカ粒子、平均粒径が40~60nmの疎水性シリカ粒子、平均粒径が10~15nmの疎水性シリカ粒子を準備した。これらのシリカ粒子は、メタクリロイル基を有しており、メチルエチルケトン(MEK)に分散されていた。
まず、上記オリゴマー、モノマー及び光重合開始剤を混合して、ベース樹脂を調製した。次いで、ベース樹脂とシリカ粒子とを混合した後、分散媒であるMEKの大部分を減圧除去して、樹脂組成物をそれぞれ作製した。なお。樹脂組成物中に残存しているMEKの含有量は、5質量%以下であった。
樹脂組成物の45℃における粘度を、B型粘度計であるブルックフィ-ルド社の「デジタル粘度計DV-II」(使用スピンドル:No.18、回転数:10rpm)を用いて測定した。
スピンコータを用いて、樹脂組成物をポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)フィルムの上に塗布した後、ヘレウス製の無電極UVランプシステム「VPS6(Dバルブ)」を用いて、1000±100mJ/cm2の条件で硬化させ、PETフィルム上に厚み200±20μmの樹脂層(塗膜)を形成した。樹脂層をPETフィルムから剥がし、樹脂フィルムを得た。
分子量2000のポリプロピレングリコール、2,4-トリレンジイソシアネート、ヒドロキシエチルアクリレート及びメタノールを反応させることにより得られるウレタンアクリレートオリゴマーを75質量部、ノニルフェノキシポリエチレングリコールアクリレート12質量部、N-ビニルカプロラクタム6質量部、1,6-ヘキサンジオールジアクリレートを2質量部、2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキシド(Omnirad TPO)を1質量部、3-メルカプトプロピルトリメトキシシラン(MPTS)を1質量部混合して、樹脂組成物A1を得た。
作製された光ファイバについて、断線の有無を確認することで、樹脂組成物の塗布性を評価した。断線が無い場合を「OK」とし、断線を確認した場合を「NG」とした。樹脂組成物の粘度が高すぎると、セカンダリ樹脂層を形成する際の被覆径が安定せずに断線し易くなる。一方、樹脂組成物の粘度が低すぎると、自己調芯力が働きにくく、偏肉が発生し易くなる。
Claims (8)
- ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートオリゴマー、フェノキシ基を有するモノマー及び光重合開始剤を含有するベース樹脂と、疎水性の無機酸化物粒子とを含み、
粘度が、45℃で300mPa・s以上3500mPa・s以下であり、
前記フェノキシ基を有するモノマーの含有量が、前記ベース樹脂の総量を基準として1質量%以上30質量%以下であり、
前記フェノキシ基を有するモノマーが、2-フェノキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、3-フェノキシベンジル(メタ)アクリレート、フェノキシジエチレングリコール(メタ)アクリレート及びフェノキシポリエチレングリコール(メタ)アクリレートからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種である、樹脂組成物。 - 前記ベース樹脂が、フェノキシ基を有しないモノマーを更に含有する、請求項1に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記フェノキシ基を有しないモノマーの粘度が、25℃で50mPa・s以下である、請求項2に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記無機酸化物粒子が、二酸化ケイ素、二酸化ジルコニウム、酸化アルミニウム、酸化マグネシウム、酸化チタン、酸化スズ及び酸化亜鉛からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種である、請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記無機酸化物粒子の平均一次粒径が200nm以下である、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記無機酸化物粒子の含有量が、前記樹脂組成物の総量を基準として1質量%以上60質量%以下である、請求項1から請求項5のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 請求項1から請求項6のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組成物を含む、光ファイバのセカンダリ被覆材料。
- コア及びクラッドを含むガラスファイバと、
前記ガラスファイバに接して該ガラスファイバを被覆するプライマリ樹脂層と、
前記プライマリ樹脂層を被覆するセカンダリ樹脂層と、を備え、
前記セカンダリ樹脂層が、請求項1から請求項6のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組成物の硬化物からなる、光ファイバ。
