Claims (2)
- 段付管状部材を含み、駆動力源から出力された回転力を駆動輪へ伝達する車両用プロペラシャフトであって、
前記車両用プロペラシャフトの軸方向の圧縮荷重に対する圧縮荷重最弱部位と、前記車両用プロペラシャフトの軸まわりのねじり荷重に対するねじり荷重最弱部位とが、前記段付管状部材の径方向に分離されており、
前記段付管状部材は、所定の外径を有する小径管部と前記小径管部の外径よりも大きい外径を有する大径管部と前記小径管部および前記大径管部を接続する第1テーパ状管部とを有するものであり、
前記圧縮荷重最弱部位は、前記第1テーパ状管部の前記大径管部側に設けられ、
前記ねじり荷重最弱部位は、前記第1テーパ状管部の前記小径管部側に設けられており、
前記圧縮荷重最弱部位は、前記第1テーパ状管部の前記大径管部側の外周面に設けられた溝状の周方向切欠きにより構成されており、
前記車両用プロペラシャフトの中心線を含む平面において、
前記第1テーパ状管部の直線をなす部分もしくは前記第1テーパ状管部の曲線部における変曲点の接線と前記車両用プロペラシャフトの中心線とのなす角である第1テーパ角をaとし、
前記小径管部の外径をφS、前記大径管部の外径をφLとしたときに次式で定まる縮管率をbとし、

前記第1テーパ状管部の前記接線と前記小径管部の外周面を示す直線の延長線との交点を基点とし、
前記第1テーパ状管部の前記接線と前記大径管部の外周面を示す直線の延長線との交点を第1交点とし、

前記基点から前記第1中点までの長さだけ前記基点から前記小径管部外周面に向かって離間した点を第1接点とし、
前記第1中点と前記第1接点とに外接する円弧の曲率半径を外接半径Rcとし、前記大径管部の外周面を示す直線と前記第1テーパ状管部の外周面を示す曲線とに外接する境界部円弧の曲率半径を境界部半径Rとしたときに次式で定まる縮管部R率をcとし、

前記第1テーパ状管部の前記大径管部側に形成された前記周方向切欠きにおける板厚をxとし、前記周方向切欠き以外の前記段付管状部材の板厚をtとしたときに次式で定まる切欠率をdとした場合、

ことを特徴とする請求項1の車両用プロペラシャフト。
