Description
以上により、本実施例の映像表示装置においては、光源からの光を効率よくスクリーンに投影でき、輝度ムラ、色ムラのない高品位なカラー投影画像を得ることができる。さらには、光源ユニット100以外の部品は、高圧水銀ランプなどを用いた液晶プロジェクタの部品をそのまま流用できる為、大きな設備投資などを必要としないで実現できる。
Claims (13)
- 光軸を中心に放射角度の光出力分布特性をもつ半導体発光素子と、
複数個の前記半導体発光素子で構成される光源と、
該複数個の半導体発光素子毎に対応して配置した複数個のセルレンズで構成される平行化手段と、
光学像を形成する映像表示素子と、
前記平行化手段と該映像表示素子との間に配置されインテグレータ光学系を構成する一対のレンズアレイ群と、
該映像表示素子で形成された光学像を拡大して投射する投射手段とを有し、
前記インテグレータ光学系のレンズアレイ群は、前記半導体発光素子に対して1対1に対応するセルレンズを備え、
前記複数個の半導体発光素子は、前記平行化手段のセルレンズの入射側の略焦点上に配置され、前記複数個の半導体発光素子のうちのいくつかの前記平行化手段から出射される半導体発光素子の光束の光軸が、前記レンズアレイ群の光軸と平行であって、前記平行化手段から出射される半導体発光素子の光束の光軸が、前記レンズアレイ群の光軸に対して前記映像表示素子の素子面の所定の一方向にずれて偏移している半導体発光素子グループが形成され、前記半導体発光素子グループが、前記偏移方向が逆方向の少なくとも2種類あることを特徴とする映像表示装置。 - 前記光源は、前記半導体発光素子グループの各々に属する前記半導体発光素子の数が略等しくなるように構成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の映像表示装置。
- 前記複数個の半導体発光素子のうちのいくつかは、該半導体光素子の光軸を、前記レンズアレイ群の光軸と異なる前記映像表示素子の素子面の所定の一方向に傾斜して設置されて、半導体発光素子グループを形成し、
前記半導体発光素子グループに属する各々の半導体発光素子の光軸は、各々の該半導体発光素子に対応する前記平行化手段の光軸に対して略対称な所定の角度で交差していることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の映像表示装置。 - 前記半導体発光素子グループに属する各々の該半導体発光素子の光軸は、各々の該半導体発光素子に対応する前記平行化手段の光軸と略一致しており、
該平行化手段の光軸は、各々の該半導体発光素子に対応する前記レンズアレイ群の光軸に対して略平行であって、且つ異なる直線上にあることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の映像表示装置。 - 前記半導体発光素子グループの各々に対して、該半導体発光素子グループの発光量を制御する発光制御手段を有することを特徴とする請求項3乃至請求項4の何れか1項に記載の映像表示装置。
- 前記光源は、少なくともR光用、G光用、B光用の半導体発光素子を含む複数個の半導体発光素子で構成されることを特徴とする請求項4乃至請求項5の何れか1項に記載の映像表示装置。
- 前記R光用、G光用、B光用の半導体発光素子の個数は、各々略同数あることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の映像表示装置。
- 前記R光用、G光用、B光用の半導体発光素子の個数は、各々異なることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の映像表示装置。
- 光軸を中心に放射角度の光出力分布特性をもつ半導体発光素子と、
複数個の半導体発光素子を有する組が、複数組で構成される光源と、
該複数個の半導体発光素子毎に対応して配置した複数個のセルレンズで構成される平行化手段と、
光学像を形成する映像表示素子と、
前記平行化手段と該映像表示素子との間に配置されインテグレータ光学系を構成する一対のレンズアレイ群と、
前記映像表示素子で形成された光学像を拡大して投射する投射手段とを有し、
前記インテグレータ光学系のレンズアレイ群は、前記半導体発光素子に対して1対1に対応するセルレンズを備え、
前記複数個の半導体発光素子は、前記平行化手段のセルレンズの入射側の略焦点上に配置され、前記組のそれぞれの半導体発光素子の前記平行化手段から出射される半導体発光素子の光束の光軸が、前記レンズアレイ群の光軸と平行であって、前記平行化手段から出射される半導体発光素子の光束の光軸が、前記レンズアレイ群の光軸に対して前記映像表示素子の素子面の所定の一方向にずれて偏移し、前記平行化手段から出射される半導体発光素子の2つの組の光軸偏移は、前記映像表示素子の中心点に対称な関係にあることを特徴とする映像表示装置。 - 前記組は、同色の前記半導体発光素子で構成されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の映像表示装置。
- 前記光源は、少なくともR光用、G光用、B光用の前記組を含んで構成されることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の映像表示装置。
- 前記R光用、G光用、B光用の組の数は、略同数あることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の映像表示装置。
- 前記R光用、G光用、B光用の組の数は、各々異なることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の映像表示装置。
