Claims (3)
- 電解質の両側に一対の電極が設けられた電解質・電極構造体と、セパレータとが積層され、前記電解質・電極構造体と一方のセパレータとの間には、前記電極の面方向に沿って反応ガスを供給する反応ガス流路が形成されるとともに、互いに積層される前記セパレータ間には、前記反応ガスの流れ方向と略直交する冷却媒体の流れ方向を有する冷却媒体流路が形成され、さらに積層方向に貫通して前記反応ガス流路の反応ガス入口連通孔及び反応ガス出口連通孔が設けられる燃料電池であって、
前記反応ガス入口連通孔として、燃料ガス入口連通孔及び酸化剤ガス入口連通孔とを有し、
前記反応ガス出口連通孔として、燃料ガス出口連通孔及び酸化剤ガス出口連通孔とを有し、
前記一方のセパレータの前記冷却媒体流路の上流側の一端部には、前記燃料ガス入口連通孔と、該燃料ガス入口連通孔に連通する入口バッファ部が配設され、
前記冷却媒体流路の上流側の他端部には、前記酸化剤ガス入口連通孔と、該酸化剤ガス入口連通孔に連通する入口バッファ部が配設され、
前記冷却媒体流路の下流側の他端部には、前記燃料ガス出口連通孔と、該燃料ガス出口連通孔に連通する出口バッファ部が配設され、
前記冷却媒体流路の下流側の一端部には、前記酸化剤ガス出口連通孔と、該酸化剤ガス出口連通孔に連通する出口バッファ部が配設されるとともに、
前記セパレータ間で前記入口バッファ部に対応する領域に流路壁部を有することにより前記冷却媒体が流入することを規制し、且つ前記出口バッファ部に対応する領域に流路壁部を有しないことにより前記冷却媒体が流入することを許容することを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記セパレータには、積層方向に貫通して前記冷却媒体流路の冷却媒体入口連通孔及び冷却媒体出口連通孔が設けられるとともに、
前記冷却媒体出口連通孔は、前記出口バッファ部から離間して設けられることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池において、前記入口バッファ部及び前記出口バッファ部は、前記電解質・電極構造体の電極反応面の外方に配設されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
