Description
LiMP1−xAxO4
(ここで、Mは遷移金属であり、Aは、酸化数<+4を有する元素であり、0<X<1である。)
例)LiMPO4(M=2+)⇒LiM2+ (1−x)M3+ xP(1−x)TixO4(M=2+または3+の遷移金属)
(ここで、Mは、Fe,Co,Mn,Ni,V,Cu,Tiよりなる群から選ばれたいずれか1種以上の遷移金属、0<X<1)
<LiCoPO4の合成>
コバルトアセテート、リチウムカーボネート、アンモニウムジヒドロゲンフォスファートを糖量比にてモルタルに入れて混合することにより、混合物を得た。次いで、得られた粉末を窒素雰囲気の電気炉に入れ、300℃において12時間反応させることにより、不純物を除去した。次いで、不純物の除去された粉末をモルタルにおいてさらに混合した後、窒素雰囲気の電気炉に入れ、700℃において24時間反応させることにより、最終生産物(LiCoPO4)を得た。
このようにして得られた最終生成物LiCoPO4を正極活物質として用い、活物質:導電剤:結合剤の割合が90:5:5になるようにスラリーを製造した後、このスラリーをアルミ箔に塗布して電極を製作した。対極としてはリチウムメタルを用い、電解液としてEC:EMC(1:2)に1MのLiPF6が溶解されているものを用いてコイン状の電池を製作した。
コバルトアセテート、リチウムカーボネート、アンモニウムジヒドロゲンフォスファート、Li4TiO4を糖量比にて入れることを除いては、比較例1の方法と同様にして最終生成物(LiCoP0.98Ti0.02O4)を得た。また、このようにして得られた最終生成物LiCoP0.98Ti0.02O4を正極活物質として用いる以外は、比較例1の方法と同様にしてコイン状の電池を製作した。
コバルトアセテートに代えて鉄アセテートを用いた以外は、比較例1の方法と同様にして最終生成物(LiFePO4)を得た。また、このようにして得られた最終生成物LiFePO4を正極活物質として用いた以外は、比較例1の方法と同様にしてコイン状の電池を製作した。
コバルトアセテートに代えて鉄アセテートを用いた以外は、実施例1の方法と同様にして最終生成物(LiFeP0.98Ti0.02O4)を得た。また、このようにして得られた最終生成物LiFeP0.98Ti0.02O4を正極活物質として用いた以外は、比較例1の方法と同様にしてコイン状の電池を製作した。
比較例1及び実施例1に従い製造された各電池に対して3〜5.2Vの電圧範囲において定電流(constant current;CC)方式により0.1C(15mAh/g)にて充放電を行い、その結果を図1及び図2に示す。

- 下記式(1)で表わされる化合物を含んでなる、正極活性物質。
LiMP1−xAxO4 式(1)
(上記式中、
Mは遷移金属であり、
Aは酸化数が+4以下である元素であり、かつ、Ti(4+),Al(3+),B(3+),Zr(4+),Sn(4+),V(4+),Pb(4+),及びGe(4+)からなる群から選択されてなる少なくとも一種の元素であり、
0<X<1である。) - 前記式中、
Mが、Fe,Co,Mn,Ni,V,Cu,及びTiからなる群から選択されてなる少なくとも一種の遷移金属である、請求項1に記載の正極活性物質。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の正極活性物質を使用してなる、リチウム2次電池。
