図13から図17を参照して、実施の形態2における内燃機関の排気浄化装置について説明する。本実施の形態においては、実施の形態1における排気浄化装置の運転例について説明する。

Claims (7)
- 機関排気通路内に配置され、排気ガスの浄化を行う排気処理装置と、
前記機関排気通路内において前記排気処理装置よりも上流側に配置され、前記機関排気通路の断面積より小さな断面積を有し、排気ガスの一部が内部を流通する小型酸化触媒と、
前記小型酸化触媒に向けて燃料を供給する燃料供給作用を有する燃料供給手段と、
前記小型酸化触媒と前記燃料供給手段との間に配置され、加熱作用を有する加熱手段と、
前記燃料供給手段および前記加熱手段の制御を行う制御手段と
を備え、
前記燃料供給手段により前記排気ガス中に前記燃料を供給して、前記加熱手段により前記燃料を加熱したときに、前記燃料の着火が可能な運転領域と着火が不可能な運転領域とが存在しており、
前記燃料供給手段による前記燃料の供給を行いながら、前記加熱手段による加熱を行って前記燃料を着火させる第1の制御状態、前記燃料供給手段による前記燃料の供給を行いながら、前記加熱手段による加熱を行うが前記燃料は着火しない第2の制御状態、および前記燃料供給手段による燃料の供給を行いながら、前記加熱手段による加熱が停止している第3の制御状態を有し、
前記制御手段は、前記着火が可能な運転領域において、前記第1の制御状態または前記第3の制御状態に制御して、前記着火が不可能な運転領域において、前記第2の制御状態または前記第3の制御状態に制御することを特徴とする、内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記第1の制御状態で制御するときに、前記燃料の着火により生成される火炎の一部が前記小型酸化触媒と前記機関排気通路の壁面との間を通るように形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記制御手段は、前記第1の制御状態を開始するときに、第1の燃料供給量で前記燃料を供給しながら着火を行って、所定期間の経過後に前記燃料の供給量を減少させて第2の燃料供給量になるように前記燃料供給手段を制御することを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記制御手段は、前記第1の制御状態から前記第3の制御状態に切り替えるときに、前記加熱手段による加熱を停止して、前記燃料供給手段による燃料の供給を停止する期間を介在させることを特徴とする、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記機関排気通路内の前記排気ガスの流量を調整するように形成され、前記制御手段により制御される排気ガス流量調整手段を備え、
前記制御手段は、前記第1の制御状態を開始するときに、第1の流量で前記排気ガスを供給した状態で着火を行って、所定期間の経過後に前記排気ガスの流量を増加させて第2の流量になるように前記排気ガス流量調整手段を制御することを特徴とする、請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記第1の制御状態を行うときに前記小型酸化触媒の温度が一の閾温度以上の場合に、前記一の閾温度よりも低い温度で供給する量よりも多い燃料を供給するように前記燃料供給手段を制御することを特徴とする、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記排気処理装置は、酸化触媒、NOX吸蔵触媒およびパティキュレートフィルタのうち、少なくとも一の装置を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
