前記第1基板の少なくとも反射部には、前記画素電極とスイッチング素子とを隔てる層間膜が形成されているとともに、前記画素電極の下部に反射板を備え、

前記反射部の画素電極は、前記切欠部に対応する位置の層間膜に形成されたコンタクトホールを介して前記スイッチング素子の電極と電気的に接続されていることを特徴とする。
前記第2基板は少なくとも前記透過部に対応する位置に配向規制手段を備え、
前記第1基板及び第2基板の表面には垂直配向膜が積層されており、
前記液晶層は誘電率異方性が負の液晶からなることを特徴とする。

Claims (8)
- マトリクス状に配置された信号線及び走査線により区画されるそれぞれの位置にスイッチング素子及び画素電極が設けられ、前記それぞれの画素電極に反射部と透過部とが形成された第1基板と、カラーフィルタ層及び共通電極を備える第2基板と、前記第1基板及び第2基板の間に液晶層が封入された半透過型液晶表示装置において、
前記第1基板の少なくとも反射部には、前記画素電極とスイッチング素子とを隔てる層間膜が形成されているとともに、前記画素電極の下部に反射板を備え、
前記反射板は周辺に切欠部を有し
前記反射部の画素電極は、前記切欠部に対応する位置の層間膜に形成されたコンタクトホールを介して前記スイッチング素子の電極と電気的に接続されていることを特徴とする半透過型液晶表示パネル。 - 前記画素電極及び反射板は前記第1基板の表示領域全体にわたって設けられた層間膜上に設けられているとともに、前記第2基板の反射部に対応する位置にはトップコート層が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の半透過型液晶表示パネル。
- 前記画素電極は前記透過部と反射部との間にスリットを有し、
前記第2基板は少なくとも前記透過部に対応する位置に配向規制手段を備え、
前記第1基板及び第2基板の表面には垂直配向膜が積層されており、
前記液晶層は誘電率異方性が負の液晶からなることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の半透過型液晶表示パネル。 - 前記反射板の切欠部は前記画素電極の幅が狭くなっている部分と対向するように設けられていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の半透過型液晶表示パネル。
- 前記配向規制手段は、前記垂直配向膜の下部に設けられた突起からなることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の半透過型液晶表示パネル。
- 前記配向規制手段は、前記共通電極に設けられたスリットからなることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の半透過型液晶表示パネル。
- 前記透過部の画素電極はスリットにより複数個に区画されていることを特徴とする請求項5又は6に記載の半透過型液晶表示パネル。
- 前記透過部の画素電極は、平面視において前記信号線とは重複しておらず、前記走査線に沿って重複していることを特徴とする請求項3〜7のいずれかに記載の半透過型液晶表示パネル。
