Description
組成式(Ba 1−x Ca x ) m (Zr 1−y Ti y )O 3 で表され、前記組成式中のm,xおよびyが0.995≦m≦1.020、0<x≦0.15、y=1.00である化合物からなる主成分と、
MgO,CaO,BaOおよびSrOから選択される少なくとも1種からなる第1副成分と、
MnまたはCrの酸化物からなる第2副成分と、
Rの酸化物(ただし、RはSc,Y,La,Ce,Pr,Nd,Pm,Sm,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,YbおよびLuから選択される少なくとも1種)からなる第3副成分と、
CaZrO 3 からなる第4副成分と、
V 2 O 5 ,MoO 3 およびWO 3 から選択される少なくとも1種からなる第5副成分と、
SiO 2 、SiO 2 −MO化合物(ただし、Mは、Ba、Ca、Sr及びMgから選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素)、SiO 2 −Li 2 O化合物およびSiO 2 −B 2 O 3 化合物から選択される少なくとも1種からなる第6副成分と、を含有し、
前記主成分100モルに対する各副成分の比率が、
第1副成分:0.1〜5モル、
第2副成分:0.1〜2.5モル(ただし、第2副成分のモル数は、MnまたはCr元素単独での比率である)、
第3副成分:0.1〜12モル(ただし、第3副成分のモル数は、R単独での比率である)、
第4副成分:0モルより多く、5モル未満(ただし、第4副成分のモル数は、CaZrO 3 換算での比率である)
第5副成分:0.01〜0.2モル、
第6副成分:1〜10モルであり、
前記誘電体磁器組成物が、偏析相を有し、前記偏析相には、CaZrO 3 が含有されており、
前記誘電体磁器組成物におけるZr元素の検出強度の標準偏差σおよび平均検出強度xより、下記式(1)から算出されるZr元素の検出強度のC.V.値が、100以下であることを特徴とする。

主成分と、Zrの化合物を含む第4副成分と、を含有する誘電体磁器組成物を製造する方法であって、
前記第4副成分の原料として、最大粒径が0.1〜6.0μmの範囲にある粒状のZrの化合物を使用し、
前記Zrの化合物の含有量を、前記主成分100モルに対して、Zr換算で0モルより多く、5モル未満とすることを特徴とする。
主成分と、Zrの化合物を含む第4副成分と、を含有する誘電体磁器組成物を製造する方法であって、
前記第4副成分の原料として、50%相当径であるD50径と、100%相当径であるD100径との差(D100−D50)が、70μm以下である粒状のZrの化合物を使用し、
前記Zrの化合物の含有量を、前記主成分100モルに対して、Zr換算で0モルより多く、5モル未満とすることを特徴とする。
主成分と、Zrの化合物を含む第4副成分と、を含有する誘電体磁器組成物を製造する方法であって、
前記第4副成分の原料として、
最大粒径が0.1〜6.0μmの範囲にあり、かつ、50%相当径であるD50径と、100%相当径であるD100径との差(D100−D50)が、70μm以下である粒状のZrの化合物を使用し、
前記Zrの化合物の含有量を、前記主成分100モルに対して、Zr換算で0モルより多く、5モル未満とする。
図1は本発明の一実施形態に係る積層セラミックコンデンサの断面図、
図2(A)は本発明の実施例に係る誘電体磁器組成物の微細構造をEPMA分析して表されたZr元素の偏析状態を示す写真、図2(B)は比較例に係る誘電体磁器組成物の微細構造をEPMA分析して表されたZr元素の偏析状態を示す写真である。
図1に示すように、本発明の一実施形態に係る積層セラミックコンデンサ1は、誘電体層2と内部電極層3とが交互に積層された構成のコンデンサ素子本体10を有する。このコンデンサ素子本体10の両端部には、素子本体10の内部で交互に配置された内部電極層3と各々導通する一対の外部電極4が形成してある。コンデンサ素子本体10の形状に特に制限はないが、通常、直方体状とされる。また、その寸法にも特に制限はなく、用途に応じて適当な寸法とすればよい。
誘電体層2は、本発明の誘電体磁器組成物を含有する。
本実施形態においては、上記誘電体磁器組成物は、Ba、CaおよびTiを含有し、かつ、一般式ABO3 で表されるペロブスカイト型結晶構造を有する化合物を含む主成分と、Zrの化合物を含む第4副成分と、その他の副成分とを含有する。
すなわち、MgO,CaO,BaOおよびSrOから選択される少なくとも1種を含む第1副成分と、
MnまたはCrの酸化物を含む第2副成分と、
Rの酸化物(ただし、RはSc,Y,La,Ce,Pr,Nd,Pm,Sm,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,YbおよびLuから選択される少なくとも1種)を含む第3副成分と、
V2 O5 ,MoO3 およびWO3 から選択される少なくとも1種を含む第5副成分と、
酸化シリコンを主成分として含む第6副成分と、をさらに含有することが好ましい。
第1副成分:0.1〜5モル、
第2副成分:0.1〜2.5モル、
第3副成分:0.1〜12モル、
第5副成分:0.01〜0.2モル、
第6副成分:1〜10モル、
であり、好ましくは、
第1副成分:0.2〜2.0モル、
第2副成分:0.1〜0.5モル、
第3副成分:0.2〜8モル、
第5副成分:0.05〜0.1モル、
第6副成分:2〜5モル、
である。なお、第2、第3副成分の上記比率は、Mnの酸化物、Crの酸化物、またはRの酸化物のモル比ではなく、それぞれ、Mn元素、Cr元素、R元素単独のモル比である。すなわち、たとえば第3副成分(Rの酸化物)として、Yの酸化物を用いた場合、第3副成分の比率が1モルであることは、Y2 O3 の比率が1モルなのではなく、Yの比率が1モルであることを意味する。

内部電極層3に含有される導電材は特に限定されないが、誘電体層2の構成材料が耐還元性を有するため、比較的安価な卑金属を用いることができる。導電材として用いる卑金属としては、NiまたはNi合金が好ましい。Ni合金としては、Mn,Cr,CoおよびAlから選択される1種以上の元素とNiとの合金が好ましく、合金中のNi含有量は95重量%以上であることが好ましい。なお、NiまたはNi合金中には、P等の各種微量成分が0.1重量%程度以下含まれていてもよい。内部電極層3の厚さは用途等に応じて適宜決定すればよいが、通常、0.1〜3μm、特に0.2〜2.0μm程度であることが好ましい。
外部電極4に含有される導電材は特に限定されないが、本発明では安価なNi,Cuや、これらの合金を用いることができる。外部電極4の厚さは用途等に応じて適宜決定すればよいが、通常、10〜50μm程度であることが好ましい。
本実施形態の積層セラミックコンデンサ1は、従来の積層セラミックコンデンサと同様に、ペーストを用いた通常の印刷法やシート法によりグリーンチップを作製し、これを焼成した後、外部電極を印刷または転写して焼成することにより製造される。以下、製造方法について具体的に説明する。
このようにして製造された本発明の積層セラミックコンデンサは、ハンダ付等によりプリント基板上などに実装され、各種電子機器等に使用される。
まず、誘電体材料を作製するための出発原料として、主成分原料である(Ba0.9 Ca0.1 )TiO3 (すなわち、組成式(Ba1−x Cax )m (Zr1−y Tiy )O3 において、m=1、x=0.1、y=1)および以下に示す第1〜第6副成分を準備した。
MgO (第1副成分):1.1モル
MnO (第2副成分):0.3モル
Y2 O3 (第3副成分):0.7モル
CaZrO3 (第4副成分):1.0モル
V2 O5 (第5副成分):0.03モル
SiO2 (第6副成分):3.5モル
上記第1〜第6副成分の添加量は、主成分である(Ba0.9 Ca0.1 )TiO3 100モルに対するモル数を、各酸化物換算の添加量で示した。ただし、第3副成分であるY2 O3 の添加量は、Y原子換算でのモル数で示した。すなわち、Y2 O3 換算での添加量は、0.35モルである。また、第4副成分であるCaZrO3 の添加量は、CaZrO3 換算での添加量である。

表1にCaZrO3 の添加量、使用したCaZrO3 の粒径、焼成温度、耐電圧、TCバイアス特性およびZr元素の検出強度のC.V.値を、図2(A)および図2(B)に実施例および参考例の試料の誘電体層の微細構造をEPMA分析して表されたZr元素の偏析状態を示す写真を示す。なお、図2(A)は、実施例の試料6の誘電体層の写真、図2(B)は、参考例の試料7の誘電体層の写真であり、それぞれ、視野30μm×30μmについての写真である。
第4副成分の原料であるCaZrO3 の添加量を、主成分100モルに対して、4.0モルとした以外は、実施例1と同様にして、積層セラミックコンデンサの試料11〜17を作製し、実施例1と同様にして各特性を測定した。なお、本実施例の試料11〜17においては、CaZrO3 は、実施例1の試料1〜7に使用したCaZrO3 と、それぞれ同じものを使用した。
表2にCaZrO3 の添加量、使用したCaZrO3 の粒径、焼成温度、耐電圧、TCバイアス特性およびZr元素のC.V.値を示す。
表2より、CaZrO3 原料として、最大粒径が0.1〜6.0μmの範囲にあり、D50径とD100径との差(D100−D50)が、70μm以下であるCaZrO3 を使用し、添加量を主成分100モルに対して、4.0モルとした実施例の試料12〜16は、いずれも耐電圧が150V/μm以上、TCバイアス特性が−40%以上となり、良好な結果であった。また、実施例の試料12〜16は、焼結後のZr元素の検出強度のC.V.値が、いずれも100以下となり、焼結後の誘電体層におけるZr元素の分散度が高くなっていることが確認できた。
第4副成分の原料であるCaZrO3 の添加量を、主成分100モルに対して、5.0モルとした以外は、実施例1と同様にして、積層セラミックコンデンサの試料21〜27を作製し、実施例1と同様にして各特性を測定した。なお、本実施例の試料21〜27においては、CaZrO3 は、実施例1の試料1〜7に使用したCaZrO3 と、それぞれ同じものを使用した。
表3にCaZrO3 の添加量、使用したCaZrO3 の粒径、焼成温度、耐電圧、TCバイアス特性およびZr元素の検出強度のC.V.値を示す。
表3より、CaZrO3 の添加量を、主成分100モルに対して、5.0モルとした比較例の試料21〜27は、いずれの試料も耐電圧が100V/μm未満となり、また、TCバイアス特性も−40%未満となり、耐電圧およびTCバイアス特性に劣る結果となった。また、比較例の試料21〜27は、焼結後のZr元素の検出強度のC.V.値が、いずれも100を超え、焼結後の誘電体層におけるZr元素の分散度が低くなってしまうことが確認できた。

Claims (5)
- 組成式(Ba1−x Cax )m (Zr1−y Tiy )O3 で表され、前記組成式中のm,xおよびyが0.995≦m≦1.020、0<x≦0.15、y=1.00である化合物からなる主成分と、
MgO,CaO,BaOおよびSrOから選択される少なくとも1種からなる第1副成分と、
MnまたはCrの酸化物からなる第2副成分と、
Rの酸化物(ただし、RはSc,Y,La,Ce,Pr,Nd,Pm,Sm,Eu,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er,Tm,YbおよびLuから選択される少なくとも1種)からなる第3副成分と、
CaZrO3 からなる第4副成分と、
V2 O5 ,MoO3 およびWO3 から選択される少なくとも1種からなる第5副成分と、
SiO2、並びに酸化シリコンを主成分として含むSiO2−MO化合物(ただし、Mは、Ba、Ca、Sr及びMgから選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素)、SiO2−Li2O化合物およびSiO2−B2O3化合物から選択される少なくとも1種からなる第6副成分と、を含有し、
前記主成分100モルに対する各副成分の比率が、
第1副成分:0.1〜5モル、
第2副成分:0.1〜2.5モル(ただし、第2副成分のモル数は、MnまたはCr元素単独での比率である)、
第3副成分:0.1〜12モル(ただし、第3副成分のモル数は、R単独での比率である)、
第4副成分:0モルより多く、5モル未満(ただし、第4副成分のモル数は、CaZrO3換算での比率である)
第5副成分:0.01〜0.2モル、
第6副成分:1〜10モルであり、
前記誘電体磁器組成物が、偏析相を有し、前記偏析相には、CaZrO3が含有されており、
前記誘電体磁器組成物におけるZr元素の検出強度の標準偏差σおよび平均検出強度xより、下記式(1)から算出されるZr元素の検出強度のC.V.値が、100以下であることを特徴とする誘電体磁器組成物。
C.V.値=(検出強度の標準偏差σ/平均検出強度x)×100…(1) - 前記第3副成分に含まれるRの酸化物が、Y,Gd,Tb,Dy,Ho,ErおよびYbから選択される少なくとも1種の酸化物である請求項1に記載の誘電体磁器組成物。
- 前記誘電体磁器組成物を構成する誘電体粒子の平均結晶粒径が、1μm以下である請求項1または2に記載の誘電体磁器組成物。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の誘電体磁器組成物で構成してある誘電体層を有する電子部品。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の誘電体磁器組成物で構成してある誘電体層と、内部電極層と、が交互に積層してあるコンデンサ素子本体を有する積層セラミックコンデンサ。
