Abstract
993,577. Frame elements; partitions. H. J. FUCHS. Dec. 17, 1962 [Jan. 9, 1962], No. 47590/62. Headings E1J and E1V. A frame element from which may be constructed window, door partition and like frames or mullions or transoms comprises a hollow main section member 2, Fig. 4, at least one subsidiary section member 16 which is secured to the main section members with the interposition of holdings or spacer members 5, the members 2 and 16 co-operating to provide a frame element of rectangular section. The spacer 5 is positioned by a corner projection 6 which is accommodated in a notch 7 in the side 4 of the T-shaped main section and the spacer is fixed as by screws to the main section, to provide the glazing &c. space or groove 14. The subsidiary section is resiliently secured to the main section by protuberances 11 which resiliently engage in grooves in the end of arms 8 of the spacers 5. Instead of the glazing 15 in the gaps shown in Fig. 4, arcuate parts 32, Fig. 7, may be substituted and held by means of a Z-shaped web 33, 34, 35 which is secured by long screws parallel to and engaging the web parts 34, 35 and pass through the central part 34 and into the main section 4 through holes indicated by notches. Door stops Fig. 8 may be similarly provided, Fig. 9 (not shown). Two angularly related main sections are secured together by inserts across the joints.
