Abstract

A joint for two bars whose longitudinal axes are angularly related and each bar comprising at least two angularly related adjacent sides 1 2 3 4 Fig. 6, or 13, 14 Fig. 6 wherein one side 14 of the first bar is formed with one or more slots 17 18, 19 extending from its free edge to the adjacent face of the other side 13 so as to accommodate one of the sides 1, 2, 3, 4 of the second bar and permit the end thereof to abut against the side 13 of the first bar and the second bar is provided on its inner face of at least one side with longitudinally extending ribs 5, 6, 8, which form with part of the side of the bar, longitudinally extending grooves which receive the portion of the side 14 between two adjacent slots or between a slot and the end 20 of the bar 13-14. The interengaging parts of the two bars are held together by a local distortion of parts of the bars which lie in contact. As shown the second bar has parallel flanges 10 with inturned beads 12 which are accommodated in the slot 17 and together with flanges 14 form a channel for glazing purposes. The bars have also flanges 11 and 15 and 16.
