Abstract

747,361. Windows. MICROLIT ANSTALT. Dec. 9, 1953 [March 11, 1953], No. 34313/53. Class 20(3). A hinged metal window sash which may cooperate with a wooden frame 16, Fig. 1, or a metal frame 1, Fig. 2, comprises a hollow member 19 or 23 having a stepped outer wall providing a double rabbet for co-operation with the fixed frame 16 or 1, an inner wall 20 opposite the stepped wall and two side walls, one of the latter projecting inwardly to support a window pane. At the vertical sides of the sash, a further hollow section member 4 integral with the sash has excisions to accommodate hinges mounted on the fixed outer frame. A dovetail groove contains packing 6 and a water drip 22 may be provided. The lower portion of the wooden frame 16 carries a water bar 17 and canal 18. In the case of double windows, the inner sash 21 which is of T-section is hinged at 24 to the hollow member 23.
