Abstract

976,378. Hair curlers. E. L. BLUMSON. Oct. 15, 1962 [Oct. 20, 1961], No. 38897/62. Heading A4V. A hair curler 10 of flexible, resilient material, e.g. polythene or polypropylene, comprises an inner cup 11 with an integral stem 12 on which hair is wound and which has a groove 19 in which an aperture 20 in an outer cup 13 is snap-fitted, the cup 13 being movable from the open position shown in Fig. 4 to embrace the inner cup and clamp the coiled tress. The cups are apertured, being formed by rim flanges 13, 15 and intersecting radial and concentric ribs, for drying of the hair and for the insertion of fixing pins. The cup 13 has hairengaging ribs 27 and the rim flange 15 of the inner cup 11 seats against the head.
