Abstract
944,839. Rollerway conveyers. BRIGHTSIDE FOUNDRY & ENGINEERING CO. Ltd., and W. UDALL. Jan. 5, 1961 [Jan. 5, 1960], No. 364/60. Heading B8A. Rolled bars from a rolling mill arrive on rollerway B, each bar in turn then rolling down surface 2 from which it is raised by plungers 10 and then rolls down surface 3. The bar then rests at position 9. In this position rollers 18 come into operation, being driven from shaft 26 via gearing 27 and being carried by arm 19 which is caused to pivot about 26 by the engagement of roller 21 with cam 23. The driven rollers 18 engage the bar and move it lengthwise till its end engages stop 28. Arm 19 then pivots downwards to permit plungers 11 to raise the bar so that it rolls down surface 4 on to cooling bed C. Plungers 10 and 11 are operated alternately by oscillating member 14.
