Abstract
1,271,306. Conveyers. MORGAN CONSTRUCTION CO. 21 Oct., 1969 [14 Nov., 1968], No. 51544/69. Heading B8A. [Also in Division B3] Apparatus for receiving and laterally transferring rolled bar, rod or angle while it is still moving axially comprises a roller table having driven rollers 18a, a first sliding notch 34 and a second sliding notch 36 in which the rolled material slides to a stop before being transferred to a cooling bed 20a. The rolled material is swept from rollers 18a into notch 34 by arms 76. Notch 34 is mounted so that it can be raised to allow rolled material to roll into notch 36. Reciprocating carryover members 88 carry the rolled material from notch 36 on to and across the cooling bed 20a. The motions of arms 76 and notch 34 are derived from a shaft 64 on which are eccentrics (60), Fig. 4 (not shown), and 66. Eccentrics 66 are journalled in yoke assemblies 70 which in turn are pivoted at 80 to one end of a rod 82 pivoted at its other end, 84, to the frame of the apparatus, thus producing an elliptical movement of arms 76, Fig. 9 (not shown). Notch 34 is secured to links 43 pivoted at 45 and secured to yoke assemblies 56 by pivots 48, the yoke assemblies 56 being journalled on eccentrics (60). The carryover members 88 are mounted on members (90) journalled on eccentrics (94), Fig. 2 (not shown), and members (96) joined to bell cranks (102) operated by links (104) driven by eccentrics (94).
