Undercollars for garments are produced by cutting a woven supporting cloth in the form of a tube continuously on the bias along a helical line with a pitch of 45 degrees to form a continuous strip to which felt or a textile material with similar moulding properties, such as melton, is attached. The layers are united by either stitching throughout the entire surface or by means of an adhesive and the undercollars are cut, lengthwise or transversely of the strip, from the assembled material. The supporting cloth may be canvas, e.g. of linen or a union of other textile fibres or yarns.
