Abstract

One or both longitudinal edges of a tape of synthetic plastic material is/are cut at evenly spaced distances to form a fringed yarn which is woven through a rug warp i.e. so as effectively to constitute the weft. Tapes of different colours may be so woven. The fringed tape may be slightly twisted, Fig. 3 (not shown). The tape is fringed by being conveyed through a device with movable knives (see Division B4).
